You’d be FINE if you actually invited Dotty over to meet Joyce and let them assess each other as acquaintances, rather than “I’mma hang out with my old squeeze whether you like it or not”
/admittedly has not had this problem w/ hubby, bc no hubby-exes 🤷♀️
My wife and I have plenty of Exes… but well over half of them have been people we’ve dated together since we’ve been married. Plus, with one exception, we’ve generally parted on good terms with those we’ve mutually dated.
So… yeah. Being pro-poly makes dating stories… less applicable, I find.
Just finding other pro-poly people and having enough people be attracted to one another is. We’ve been at this for almost 20 years and have never moved beyond Friends with Benefits with anyone we’ve dated.
Y’know Sal, maybe the conversation would start off better if you didn’t lead with ‘I don’t trust her’. That would automatically put Walky on the defensive.
Maybe Walkertons just aren’t very good at de-escalating.
I can see why he’d get comfortable though, after going through a war with her for years on end most people would be confident their relationship can get through anything. But there are tons of relationships that have been a thing for decades that can still come apart. Walky should watch his step.
The words are right, but are kinda being applied to the wrong situation here.

More interesting though.
I’m theoretically pro-poly, but the amount of work that would take to make it… work, eh
I can’t even get a CAT (other than the ones that stay outside and run away when I leave the house but come back when I’m gone to eat the food I leave)
Oh gods, yes, it is SO MUCH WORK.

Particularly when I don’t trust you is more accurate..

At first glance, i thought that sal had slapped Walky so hard his face bended
My first thought responding to the commentary is that clearly, Sal needs to slap Walky at random intervals so as to not constitute a pattern.
Objection!
I was gonna say that.
Sal’s got a point in the 3rd panel, but maybe she could make her points without so much slapping.
Sal: Maybe I could make the slapping without waiting to have a point.
Actually, I think actually striking someone is “battery”, not “assault”.
