I’m just worried, y’know.
on June 14, 2020 at 12:01 amChapter: A Mild Dorothy Appears!
Location: Joyce and Walky's apartment
Of all the various nicknames Joyce developed for Walky throughout It’s Walky!, many of which she workshopped while recovering from brain trauma, “Walky Talky Man” is definitely one of them.
I grew a habit of everyone’s nickname was Name B-name, like Gabey Baby, or Xena Beana (the cats)
Is that Double Standards I hear in the distance?
No. No. They’re up close.
Just not as close as Sal.
Sal must be like “Does Dorothy ever say Walky Talky Man to you?”
Walky.
Bruh.
No, I’m with Wally on this one. If Walky trusts Joyce to hang around with the various boys she’s pined over, there’s no reason he shouldn’t be able to spend some time with Dorothy.
It’s a bit different. Walky knows those guys, have a similar background and have their respect because they know what he did. He also trusts them. Joyce knows nothing of Dorothy. She’s a stranger who, for all she knows, may very well pursue an affair. She trusts Walky but also knows how Walky is prone to nostalgic hang-ons.
Yes, this. Dorothy is an unknown quantity, and Walky’s completely ignoring that to call Joyce a hypocrite. Not cool.
The problem is that while Walky does have a point, Joyce’s double standards aren’t the point here. It’s her insecurity. Walky should address that first, then bring up her double standards at another time.
This is ‘well, this is how it’s gonna be, so nyeh’, which isn’t exactly going to make her wife feel better about Dorothy.
Yeah, I agree – while ‘objectively’ he may have a point, he’s just telling her to get over her feelings because That’s How It Is (and making her feel worse through guilt) instead of trying to help her feel better about the situation.
Yeah even if Walky wins the aruement, Joyce feelings and insecurities seems to get dismissed outright putting a slight damper on their relationship. Not worth it if you ask me.
Thanks for the earworm, Joyce.
Sounds like the title of a blues single.
I’m confused, what’s with Sal’s face in the last panel?
She’s disappointed with her bro. That was a very selfish and thoughtless way to put down Joyce’s valid concerns.
Walky has a point but I think this is feels like one of those arguments where it’s not really worth having you way.
