I’ll bet he doesn’t even care that Snoots lost his entire (adoptive) family in that explosion! Pigs have feelings, you know! They’re smart animals!
Ahi had ALMOST built up the confidence to ask Nat out!
Jay never got to meet Bea Arthur and complete his set of Golden Girls autographs!
Eddie never got to prove that he could pull off the “Robin Hood split-arrow” shot!
Jack was going to go on leave the next day to visit her newborn niece! (She joined SEMME openly and her family was aware that she was still around, though the obviously didn’t know about the aliens. All they knew was that it was a sort of Government Agency.)
None of them got to try the cherry/lime swirl cheesecake recipe they’d found!
There are actually only a dozen or so squads at a time, but the numbering goes into the hundreds because it’s pretty common for entire squads to be wiped out.
When a squad is completely wiped out, its number is retired, like a sports jersey.
And you know, squad 253 did die extremely pointlessly becuase Walky wanted his chips, I feel as though that deserve addressing by some sort of authority.
Squad 2-5-3, where aaaaaaare youuuuuuu
Wow if only they needed it, and I guess I’m going to haft scratch some bodies of the death counter.
Don’t forget their names:
– Jay Brooks
– Natalie Foster
– Eddie Wolf
– Jaclyn “Jack” Kim
– Ahi Javed
…and never forget their surviving member/pet, Snoots.
Alas, poor Snoots! Never has a fair pig snuffled and snootled so mournfully.
I thought that it was established that squad 253 was atomized a couple strips back?
Good shot Sal.
You’re not sorry, Willis. You’re not sorry at all!

R.I.P. 253.
Today, Walky’s and Sal’s facial expressions are in perfect sync. Twins!
Maybe Squad 253 was the one with Raidah and co in it. Thats why they seem new in DOA.
I’m still thinking it was Wack’d and Spike and the others who were drafted for the redraw of the DC scene. This is why we never see them again.

So thy only have like 10 other squads right now (in 2000), but they have like 242 dead ones? Multiply by five… so over 1200 dead employees?
Somehow that isn’t too hard to believe! Though it is getting a bit 40K-ish.
No, who am I kidding, in 40K it’d be millions.
Squad 253, I feel we hardly knew ye….. (sniff)
I don’t think he earned that one.
