This makes me think their relationship is pretty healthy. I’m an atheist and not a morning person, so I’d be annoyed if I had a girlfriend who tried to pressure me to get up early and go to church with her.
I think that the ideal option would probably have been for her to ask him once just in case he wants to share this with her, and then be fine with a “no.”
No, but his hips might be. I mean, I can twist my waist such that my feet are straight up as seen and my face is face down in a pillow. That said, I’m moderately hypermobile and I still wouldn’t call it a comfortable sleeping position…
I don’t think his feet look right (too low down?) but he’s lying on his stomach, with his knees bent and his feet in the air. The bottom is the correct part of his feet to be seeing from this angle.
The ‘He’s not taking interest in the thing I’m interested in, is this bad?’ look. My grandma and grandpa have a healthy and long relationship where she goes to church and he goes on hunting trips. Not everything has to overlap in a relationship.
Stories of adult relationships aren’t entirely comparable here.
Dealing with this stuff often gets easier as you get older and learn who you are, but that’s not where these two are.
Joyce is figuring out who she is. She is not sure that she is the sort of person who can be in a relationship with… whatever Walky is (honestly, “agnostic” and “atheist” don’t quite cover it, because they imply at least giving the matter enough thought to stake out a position) and she’s not sure Walky is the sort of person who can be in a relationship with her. TUNE IN TO FIND OUT.

It would be, but her face in the last panels tells another story.

Walky’s feet in panel one. How
wait….I….how…I
how can we see the balls of walky’s feet in panel one? are his feet on swivvel joints o.0
Adjustable sliding knees?
It’s one of his secret abductee powers. Helps him hang from ceilings by his shoelaces.
Obviously, DOA Walky has no such advantages.
But Doa Walky has something that this Walky doesn’t: pajama-pants!
Mike.

I think his feet are resting on the foot board, still uncomfortable, but possible.
Those are Mike’s feet kicking Walky’s ass
Best-girlfriend-ever would forgo church and spend all Sunday morning snuggling.
Just sayin’.
oh no Walky has been inspired by Rikk and is now trying to grow a beard
This could be a very healthy way for their relationship to progress… so it’s time for Joyce to make it a Problem instead.

…With who she’s becoming, I should’ve said.
