Whew, more monologuing.
We got some flashback panels to spice things up along the way, though!
You thought this was going to be Penny outlining her own supervillain origin, but apparently it’s Linda’s.
I’ve forgotten, why are they called Martians if there’s galaxies of them?
Because they originated from Mars, I assume?
Or maybe they just colonized Mars, and that’s where we found them.
I mean Christopher Columbus got lost halfway around the goddamn planet and we called them “Indians” for how many hundred years?
I like how Penny was rotten even then. Just look at that smile.
Though why is she togheter with Jason watching Linda get brainwashed( I think)? Did Dargon ask them “Hey kids, want to see me brainwash this woman?”
It’ll be a learning experience for them.
Wait, hold on, Jason KNEW about this?
Yeah that’s a confusing red flag, would have been nice if he brought this up sooner.
Dargon was a big believer in memory wipers.
Dangit Penny, why you gotta be hot and evil?
BAMBOOZLED AGAIN
I remember being pretty confused by this plotline back in the day but I feel I’m following it a bit better now. Maybe I’m just used to convoluted plots now or maybe it’s about to get worse with even more flashbacks.
Honestly, just about every word bubble is packed with info it’s kind of a headache.
Kill them with a death headache Penny!
Something that has always confused me…are the Head alien and his ilk martian because sometimes it seems like they are and sometimes it seems like they aren’t.
No, they’re Aliens, from Planet Alien. Perfectly clear, not their fault it’s pronounced confusingly in English.
No. They’re Aliens. From the planet Alien. Seriously.
The Martians look very, very different.
Why are they letting her monologue? Why not just shoot her?
I love this whole tangled web – the fact that SEMME is a conspiracy manipulated into existence by the Britja, between Linda and the Head fucking Alien, the person who was the big bad for most of the story to build an army to fight the Martians, but recognizing that they’d be fighting over what else to do with said army.
It’s such a fascinating web of motives, and it’s a fantastic explanation for why the organization was as terrible and incompetent as it was.
