Uh, when you saw what should be tomorrow’s strip here at first for like 30 seconds, that was just an elaborate April Fools Day joke, not me being bad at this.
April Fools!
More monologuing.
Pay no attention to the man behind
the curtainBeef!That’s not a man, that’s Beef’s backpack!
He always wanted a Jason-styled backpack…
It even comes with a free bow tie!
Wasn’t there also a strip before this where Danny ate a- Never mind.
Something always kind of confused me about Penny’s motivation. I assumed she was trying to take control of the organization and start a new regime to save her own skin, hence why she is trying here to get Semme agents to turncoat, but assuming she knows about the martians, culling Semme’s numbers seems like it would just give them fewer ways to resist. Regardless of whether they’re aligned with her or with Linda, shouldn’t the martian threat take precedence over this whole “invade Semme” thing? It seems like the best move is just to do nothing until that blows over. Or are we meant to assume that Penny is unaware of the imminent destruction or too far gone to care?
I might also be overthinking it a bit and this could be a way to tie up the various loose ends.
I will go with “completely bonkers”.
Wow so I’ve binged through the original site several times and never really held onto all the details of what actually went down. This once a day rerun, by making me pace myself (and also featuring live comments) is giving me a shot at actually understanding the mechanics!
I feel like I’ve always thought of three separate malicious actors/threats: Britjas, Head Alien (and company), and the Martians (though they’re possibly more misunderstood than like, completely evil? Idk?). But it turns out Britjas and Head Alien are kinda one actor? Am I getting this right? Am I the only one who’s somehow maybe never read all the dialog bubbles before? Lol
I’ve read through this comic multiple times before, and somehow I didn’t remember that the Britjas and Head Alien were the reason SEMMF was created as well.
They are very much not one factor. Linda and HA collaborated at one instance in order to push their own agendas and promptly betrayed each other (HA by installing on the abductees the “year zero” protocol to take over them and SEMME by making hunting the Aliens their masquerade purpose).
Oh okay, that’s good to know
God, Tony’s expression just kills me. He was the first abductee (by the Head Alien’s own admission) and the one whose life and sanity was the most fucked with, and likely also the most personally traumatized by all of this.
As if Linda throwing her own kids biological or otherwise so fucking spectacularly under the bus wasn’t enough. No, she had to go and sacrifice her partner’s son as well. Unless Anthony, Sr. was also in on the joke with her the entire time, and that’s so sad a thought that it absolutely repulses me.
So does this imply they had something to do with the death of Anthony Sr, or did the JFO seize an opportunity brought by Walkys fumbling?
I . . . am not sure this is describing a sensible and coherent plan on the part of the Britjas.
That’s probably because the guy who knew the plan is dead.
OK, this one makes a lot more sense in sequence than the one that went up accidentally did.
Wait, new question – if Head Alien helped hide Sal, then who were they hiding her from?
The Soggies.
