Relationship growing pains
on September 1, 2019 at 12:01 amChapter: Suddenly Sal
Location: Joyce and Walky's apartment
These first five strips ran on the JoyceAndWalky.com frontpage for free, as a preview hook for the rest of the ongoing series. The preview hook being… Sal moves in with Walky and Joyce, I guess! After this, the story continued in the subscription pages and the frontpage updated with continuity-less free Saturday strips.
billy joel’s lesser-known sequel to “movin’ out”
“Who needs a house out in Hackensack?”
Um, I DO, Billy.
Huh, I didn’t know Becky was a J&W character. I’d always thought she was original to Dumbing of Age. Guess I still have a lot to learn.
Yup, she and… Toedad… first appeared here
Willis pulled so many characters out of the recycle bin before finally coming up with new ones
I don’t see an issue with that, really. Tertiary characters like Meredith and Other Rachel are pretty much blank slates to DoA. Others, like Sierra and Marcie, even got promoted to secondary cast.
not saying it’s bad, just that there are a LOT of “new” characters that were warming the bench for literally years
I think the only two characters he refuses to pull into DoA are Guns and Ninja Rick. Though he did do a really nice sketch of a DoA treatment of Guns where she was a weightlifter and got her name from her arms, not her armaments.
I think I may have missed some subscription strips because I remember only seeing Becky, Dorothy, and some other characters one or two times in J&W, but I knew they were originally from this universe and not the DoA universe.
Unless some of those subscription strips were included on the old Joyce and Walky website, I think there may be a bunch of Joyce and Walky strips that I haven’t seen before.
The subscription strips are not available directly on the site, only if you know the “secret” URLs. If you do not have them, then you’re in for a ride, my friend!
After seeing HA 2 snap Bobby out of existence I’m sure it’ll be one hell of a ride.
Count me among the ones who didn’t know what webcomics were ten years ago. Looking forward to the entirety of J&W.
