Indebited
on November 27, 2013 at 12:01 amMan, what an unfortunately-themed fake episode of Star Trek to air right at this moment!
I mean, it happens. Almost immediately after our hamster Snkrs died, Maggie and I sat down to watch television to escape our grief. And so of course The Simpsons immediately kills Lisa Simpsons’ class hamster and tosses its body carelessly into a trash can. We had a very good crylaugh. I mean, yeah, it put us right back into tears, but the specific way in which the universe was punishing us was hilariously cruel and we couldn’t not also cackle like broken weirdos.
Howard may not appreciate his universe doing this in regards to his sister quite as much.
You know, I never would have guessed that howard would end up the most sympathetic character in this comic
Any time I have ideas like that, I think about Kate Mulgrew until they go away.
Speaking of whom, I’m nominating Kate Mulgrew for Most Sympathetic Roomies! Character.
(And Daniel the Dog for Most Sympathetic It’s Walky! Character.)
I dunno, out of IW! characters, I think Jason is most sympathetic
(This has nothing to do with the gravatar I was given not at all pray tell why do you ask?)
Insofar as it’s any defense, the Mulgrew thing hadn’t happened at the time of original publication, so he sorta hasn’t done it yet.
That’s an odd way to spell “Dina”.
Dina’s kind of a jerk in It’s Walky!, too. Though I guess that’s technically not “this comic”, and she does manage to avoid drugging any boyfriends in the single panel of Roomies! in which she appears as an unnamed extra.
The universe exists to punish Howard.
Howard is this universe’s Danny.
That’s because this universe’s Danny is too danny even for Danny and so had to be moved to a newer category.
Poor Howard.
oh shoot, I am about to be That Guy – is it supposed to be indebited rather than indebted?
Do you owe it your life…or did you withdraw your life from its account? Indebted is correct.
Indubitably.
so why does it say indebited, what I am saying is I think it is a mistake
? The comic says “indebted”. Which is correct.
The title says “Indebited”.
I don’t think you’re really supposed to be taking the title too seriously.
I’m pretty sure Bones should be saying “I’m a doctor, not a bricklayer!”
I, too, put the TV off to the side of my bed and watch it out of the corner of my eye. Great way to watch.
This strip is surpisingly accurate both of Star Trek and how the universe likes to say “Fuck You” after someone close to you dies.
“Darnit, Jim!”? Young Willis really wasn’t comfortable with swearing, was he?
(I don’t say “damn” myself, but my personal feeling is that if I’m quoting Dr McCoy it doesn’t count.)
This page is an excellent case of how not being able to take a character seriously can instantly change, turning a slightly-annoying joke character into someone you want to hug. Howard has earned my feels.

You definitely must have seen an actual episode of Star Trek by this point. That’s reasonably plausible dialog.
