Yes, but Ruth killed Ruth as a direct result of Danny trying to kill Danny, so if Danny hadn’t tried to kill Danny then Ruth wouldn’t have had to kill Ruth.
Still, “murder” implies intent to kill. For all Danny’s faults, he wasn’t trying to kill Ruth. Partially, perhaps even mostly responsible for her death? Yes. Her murderer? No.
No, Danny did murder, kill, or slaughter anyone, voluntarily, involuntarily, or vehicularly. Danny was driving drunk, but that’s all he was guilty of. He wasn’t even at fault for the accident; the truck crossed the median and was in the wrong lane. Ruth made a conscious decision to knock Danny out of harm’s way. Danny is not culpable in the slightest for any of it.
The constant bullying of Howard just makes me feel sad for him. In my personal canon, I believe he snaps one day and punches one of them out, Back to the Future style, and then runs off with the girl (or boy, if that’s his thing) that helps complete him as a person.
It really bothers me the way Howard keeps getting insult and injury piled on top of him, and it’s never treated as anything but a punchline.
Howard’s a Trekkie, what a loser, haha! Howard sexually assaulted Janeway and ended up crying naked and alone in his room okay yeah maybe he deserved that one. Howard got hung from a hook by his underwear, haha! Howard’s sister got killed, doesn’t that make things awkward for the dude who killed her, haha! Howard’s getting strangled for no reason, haha! Howard got thrown across the room, haha! Even as late as the end of IW!, it’s: Howard got decompressed and almost died, haha!
And it baffles me because this universe ends up full of toy nerds and losers and misfits of various stripes making good in their own individual ways, or at least getting their problems treated as if they matter for more than the punchline… why is Howard the acceptable target and designated punching bag?
Are we really sure that nobody here murdered his sister? Maybe he had other sisters we don’t know about…because they’re buried in the back yard under the mountain of empty beer cans!
I read the first line correctly as “It was pretty lonely back at the dorms” the first time, but when I came back just now, I read it as “It was pretty lovely back at the dorms,” which totally changes the meaning behind “Nobody talked to me.”
My sister is DEEEEEEAAAAAD!
Because of YOOUUUUUUUU!
“Also, I’m taller”
Isn’t this a retread of the last punchline?
Still better than Funky Winkerbean, which repeated a storyline’s conclusion for an entire week.
Roomies!: It’s better than Funky Winkerbean
Hm, that slogan may need work.
“Roomies!: Don’t get Funky Cancercancer”?
Danny didn’t kill Ruth though. Ruth killed Ruth. Danny was too busy trying to kill Danny.

I believe it’s called “involuntary manslaughter”, though I’m not gonna Google that to see for certain and get a flag from the FBI =p
You are correct. Involuntary manslaughter is the term, or if you want to be more specific, vehicular manslaughter would work in this case.
And as a writer, I am probably already on so many watch-lists from the things I’ve researched, that one more doesn’t matter.

*Danny did not…
Is the bigger guy just standing there? What’s he doing? Is he even listening to the conversation? Maybe he’s sleep walking.
He’s sleep bullying.
He’s standing on a footstool for dramatic effect.
I read the first panel as “it was so lovely back at the dorms. Nobody talked to me.” For a minute I thought I was reading a very different howie.

Ron and Danny now have common ground in trying to have Howard pass out via asphyxiation.
For some reason, that is a scene that sorta fits in a party house.

Well, he DOES get [LOL spoilers]
[[even if they call that off later]]
Eh, Willis work-in-progress. Kind of a lot to ask for someone to go from head-in-the-sand to full on thoughtful of all peoples in sixty seconds.
I would’ve included that in the list of awful things that happen to Howard just as punchlines if it were a little less spoileriffic.

………………So Danny’s just going to ignore the fact that Howard’s being strangled to death in front of him.
WHAT IS YOUR ISSUE WITH THE LESS FAMILY?
