I’m having a hard time connecting this Billie with Dumbiverse Billie. They just look so different: different eyes, different hair, even a different skin color.
I know, right? This feels like a very different character, even her attitude is a bit different, I think.
It’s fascinating in a way, comparing Walkyverse characters to their Dumbiverse counterparts. Like studying ancient civilisations.
I think the biggest physical differences are in her build. She’s way skinnier here, and the Walkyverse doesn’t do the thing where the women all look a foot shorter than the men.
It must be the haircut. I have such difficulty with March Billie. Then again there was quite an art jump between March and July — just click on the Billie tag and compare March Walky and July Walky in those two email comics.
Observation skills are also key, in journalism.
Which she completely fails, just like her Dumbiverse version.
To be fair, Sal is basically a superhero in this universe.
Given that she’s the Fonz in the Dumbingverse, that fits.
In Soviet Walkyverse, the superheros have fewer superpowers than their coworkers.
Exactly – as Spider-Car, Sal watches over the streets at night, swinging through buildings and protecting us!
…But she never bothered to ask, “What’s SEMMF?”
Bad German for mustard?
She must’ve thought it was “Semmfer Pie”.

Yeah I was just about to say, everyone is real tall and skinny in this universe. At least at this point in the art evolution.

Also,
Isn’t Amber about 20-ish at this point? Doesn’t she come up with Amazi-girl years later?
Don’t you start with those “facts” of yers. Nothing gets in the way of the truth.
The real facts are that around this time, Amber’s only 16. She’s about 5 years behind Ethan, who’s Joyce’s age, and Joyce is currently 21.
I really like that look on Billie, please please can we get a new drawing of her Willis?
That “best relationship in the world” punchline stuck with me for years and remains one of my favorites in the whole Roomies/IW/Shortpacked canon.
It’s great because it implies so much about their relationship.
It’s great because it implies that Danny is miserable.
You gotta wear yellow shirts!
When did Howard change races?
“Ours is the best relationship in the world.”
Ruth continues to flip Danny off from beyond the grave.
