Also,
Nooooope. Especially since you brought it up.
Although, meh. It’s just social growing pains. It wasn’t as bad as it could be (though I’m aware that’s damning by faint praise) but overall you do get better about it.
To be fair, I think you were taking your cues from what was considered “acceptable” in popular media at the time. Still homophobic and not okay, but it’s only been in the past 5-10 years that we as a society have finally decided that “ha ha gay” and “oh no gay” are not acceptable punchlines.
Moving on from the religious mandate that “gay is bad” is one thing, but it can take some time to really think about and internalize it before the idea starts to change the way you talk and relate to people. (Speaking from experience here.)
Also Panel 3 Walky seems to have a really bad case of giraffe neck.
Reminds me of the Nope Engineer.
maybe Joe’s just worried Teh Gay will affect his animal magnetism (for women)
…naw, still homophobic
To be fair, it IS Joe.

I think Walky’s overrating Billie and Danny’s SEMMF-destroying capabilities.
Now that makes sense, keeping Joe and Joyce out of Billies sight.
So why didn’t he mention it a few minutes ago!
Because he’s Walky.
Eh, it’s not So homophobic for Joe to want to do something aggressively straight after being inadvertently sexually harassed by a little guy
Not every character has to have the same view. Plus, this says more about Joe’s security in his masculinity than anything else.
Joe will just take any excuse he can get to have sex with lots of women.

I’ll cut you some slack on this one, Willis.
