I’m not Wack’d, buuuuut… quick glance at Shortpacked! says this and this. Might be some others, but since I don’t know the rest as well as Wack’d does, that’d basically involve rereading It’s Walky on the old site and I have class tomorrow.
First panel makes me think of the end of “A Knight’s Tale”:
“You have been weighed.”
“You have been measured.”
“And you absolutely…”
“…have been found wanting.” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tdhQWkTl1PQ
Hm. Did you? I honestly don’t remember that being a thing. Usually I check these things by searching for dialogue on the search engine the old site had set up but that first panel doesn’t have any dialogue. Hm.
I’ll look into it after class tomorrow. Er, after classes later today, rather.
Lemme just post this so I can see what “local time” counts as where you guys are… (it’s 9.45am here, wanna know if we’ll be waiting 10 minutes, or until midnight 😉
There have been several, though the only one I can recall specifically is Leslie waking up in Denver after stowing away in Ultra Car’s trunk. AFAICT, Joyce was at Joe’s solely to fill her spot in the homage, with Robin filling in for Sarah and Amber for Billie.
Following the “roomies references” tag from there gives this one, too, where apparently Ronnie is there just to provide the fourth head, and doesn’t appear in the rest of the scene at all.
I think there’s another one later in Roomies!, and possibly in It’s Walky!, but I don’t remember for sure and the old IW! site doesn’t provide any convenient means of searching for them (or even a working storyline dropdown box).
Sarah has an explanation; she was with Joe, who mysteriously still gives a shit about Danny, when he found out.
I’m not sure why Billie is there, though, and why she’s not a shattered emotional wreck, still half-drunk and alternating between raging at Danny for killing her girlfriend (okay, that hadn’t been established yet, but still, friend) and at herself for giving Ruth Ron’s keys and sending her to her death.
Ruth dies and everyone is all concerned about Danny. Even the people who allegedly don’t like him to start with and have every right to blame him for this. This is one of the many, many reasons why I hate this story arc.
I can see it as “Okay, we may not like him, but someone just died tonight and she thought he was worth saving, so we’d better make sure he’s okay”. And Joe gives a shit because even if he’s been insufferable, Danny is still one of his oldest friends and holy shit, ALMOST DIED. Trust me on this one, even if you’re not that close to someone, them being in an accident that had at least one fatality? Is gonna make you want to check up on them to be sure they’re okay. Especially when they were unconscious for an unknown period of time.
And while Danny’s bad decisionmaking led to Ruth’s death, it wasn’t the only thing contributing to the whole debacle. Remember, Billie is the one who gave him the first beer, so she might well feel a bit responsible for this as well and isn’t tearing into him because she’s blaming herself/is glad that at least there aren’t two fatalities.
I mean, there are still issues, but there is at least a legitimate reason for Joe and Sarah to be concerned about him since he almost died, and potential reasons for Billie to be there and not raging at the moment.
Pretty sure the answer is yes, as the did not in fact leap out of her corpse and retroactively insert themselves earlier in the timeline. I think you meant to ask a different question.
Well, there was an opening and it was either her or Howard.
I really don’t want to see the alternate universe where Danny hooked up with Howard.
I do.
And I shall make slash fan art of it.
Get to it then. Chop chop.
There you go.

If I’d have to say that Billie replaced someone in the main cast, that someone wouldn’t be Ruth.
At least Sarah was nice enough to come see how he was doing.

Here’s at least two!
AAAAH!!!!! DANNY, YOU’VE BEEN ABDUCTED BY ALIENS!!!!!
AND ONE OF ‘EM’s GONNA ERASE YOU WITH HIS HEAD AAAAAAH!!!
(see below)
Jeez, Joe’s noggin in silhouette looks like a big fat eraser.
Eraserhead.
Joe, since when are you and Joyce on the same wavelength?
Since aliens.
Hey Sarah, this might be the last time we see you for along time.
Further unintentional Joe innuendo.

Oh, so it did all end up alright.

4.46am? 5 hours behind? See you tomorrow then…

It was homaged at least twice in Shortpacked:

Those…those might be the only two.
Hm.
I just have to wonder why Sarah’s there. Maybe she was planning to finish the job the car accident started?
because joe.
and Joyce.

Can Ruth survive and there still be aliens?

Then Danny looks around and says, “Damn, it’s good to be alive!”
Everyone laughs.
Freeze-frame.
Credits roll.
That still involves a dead Ruth, though.
