Danny — You carry Sal!
on April 9, 2017 at 12:01 amChapter: Depth Perception
Characters: Danny Wilcox, David Walkerton, Jason Chesterfield, Joe Rosenthal, Joyce Brown, Linda Walkerton, Sal Walters, The Cheese, Tony McHenry
Location: Storage and Lockdown
Back in 2002, you had to wait through a week of guest strips to get to the other side of this cliffhanger! But now, in 2017, you get it the day after!
I’ve been staring at panel one, trying to figure out whose art style Linda reminds me of. I thiiiink her apparent jawless open mouth with lined upper row of teeth is vaguely Bill Wattersonesque? I dunno.
I’m sure that’s not a Meaningful Glance in panel two.
Hey, panel three, Danny sees his dead friend! ALL SECRETS BLOWN, THE END
except the new ones we will elaborate on later
…Why does Sal need to be carried? She’s not two, nor is she so badly injured or distraught she can’t walk.
Also, Joyce, I’m sorry, would you prefer she blow up the continent? Then you should be glad she’s fixed.
Danny’s not carrying her anyway, so at least he realizes that.
Good job, Danny.
Oh, Danny’s reacting to Joe? I thought he was going to say, “… is that supposed to be Robo-Vac? That’s the worst Robo-Vac cosplay I’ve ever seen. Robo-Vac doesn’t float in the air!”
“And he doesn’t look like a Swiss cheese!
I thought Willis meant Ruth and I was like ‘where?’ before I remembered Joe is meant to be dead.
I wouldn’t say Walky fixed Sal, more like he figured out who to get to stop her from doing something completely insane.
I can’t see anything in this strip other than Linda’s teeth
She looks like my dad when he’s popping his dentures out to mess with the grandkids.
Priorities Joyce. Focus on not being murdered by a packers fan, then be mad at walky
“If this dead friend is alive then Ruth might be too! I don’t have to feel guilty about her death any more! Oh man that’s a huge relief! I won’t have the nightmares anymore, everything is going to be okay :-)”
Why you gotta hurt me like that?
D:
I’m late to the party on this but we passed the point where Danny and Sal reunite and I wanted to give my two cents on it.
I never saw it as Danny being so perfect that Sal melts in awe of him, but that Danny provided her the last vestige of normalcy. He was the one part untainted by alien fighting, parent killing, and dead boyfriend revivals, and he accepted her for who she was and loved her unconditionally, so she placed him on a massive pedestal.
Little of column A, little of column b?
How exactly linda knows danny?
Sal said his name ten seconds ago.
