Bootleg
on December 7, 2014 at 12:01 amChapter: Joyce's Birthday
Characters: David Walkerton, Jason Chesterfield
Location: Squad 128's apartment
Mike and Walky originally had bunk beds? Huh. I definitely didn’t remember that later on.
And I’m pretty sure that mallet counts as another Oversized Comedy Prop. I think I’m gonna go back and tag these things.
I’m actually kind of surprised by how few results there are for ‘oversized comedy prop’, the commentary’s focus on them whenever one turns up made me think they were more common.
Does Joyce’s gun count as an oversized comedy prop?
It’s a big stick that goes BOOM and sends her flying.
So, yes.
Don’t forget Danny’s giant bone in Joyce the Squirrel’s dream.

Considering how small Walky is, maybe it’s a regular sized mallet and just looks big when he holds it.
Jason: you have a problem Wally.
Walky: You’re one to talk, you smell like 8 bars!
Step 1: Reduce strip to final panel
Step 2: Put Jason’s dialogue underneath the panel.
Step 3: Replace Walky with an orange cat with its eyes closed.
It’s now a Heathcliff strip.
Nah, it makes entirely too much sense for a Heathcliff strip. The caption would have to be, “They were out of fish,” or something like that, that almost seems like it makes sense, but only raises more unanswerable questions the more you think about it.
Ah to live in a place you just can’t buy tortillas, tortilla chips or even tostadas… the horror.
Don’t forget to tag Joyce’s calculator as an Oversized Comedy Prop! I know there have to be more.

It already has been.
I can’t tell if Jason’s disbelieving or impressed.
Both, maybe?
Been known to make my own tortilla chips from scratch, all the way from putting hard corn in ashes to the final stage. Though usually I just but a couple pounds of tortillas, cut them into wedges, fill the fryer with lard. After cooking, a serious sprinkle of fine sea salt. It ain’t rocket surgery.
