Bring us home, Ruth!
In the huge panel that’s me standing there on the left, with Rik and Rumy from Fans! peeking of the bottom right. They shouldn’t be here. It breaks continuity. Pretend they’re both someone else or maybe they die in a freak accident between 1998 and 2003.
WILLIS YOU SNEAK
I don’t see how it breaks continuity, as the crossover story established that counterpoints to the Fans! cast exist in this universe but don’t do…whatever it is the characters of Fans! do. They’re some sort of paranormal agency, right? I still need to read Fans!.
But yeah, no, they can totally be here.
The crossover established that our universe only shared two of the crossdimensional travelers, and Rik and Rumy were not them.
Huh. I never interpreted it as it was only those two, and thought that the Cheese would’ve started going after the rest of the Fans! gang if the pit hadn’t opened.
Never mind, then.
Would it still count as duplicates if the others had previously died?
Man, Rikk looks hilariously walleyed.
Besides, in the Fans ‘verse, the franchise is called Star Tek. (T was still writing around trademarks then.) So we know in any case these aren’t Rikk Prime and Rumy prime.
It was actually StarTec but close enough.
Now I’m just imagining the cast of Fans! discovering the actual franchise and going “Star TREK? What’s this crap?” and giggling to myself
Ah yeah, you’re right. Somehow I never was able to remember Fans info as well as I could remember Penny and Aggie deets.
Well, I did reread it relatively recently, but even so, yeah, I’m kinda the opposite. I remember a lot of things about Fans!, but I swear I read through Penny and Aggie once and absorbed next to nothing.
Then again, when I first read Fans! I also absorbed next to nothing, so maybe I should reread Penny and Aggie too.
Are there any actual working archives anymore? The ones on http://www.faans.com appear to point mostly to error pages.
After reading your comment, I tested a whole bunch of random links in the drop-down “Choose a Storyline” menu – They seem to work just fine to me. Try again, see if it works for you now.
Wait, what, really? I always thought the character in question legitimately knew little about the franchise and misspoke. Huh.
Man, I really feel like I should read Fans!. It’s probably very good.
It’s really good. It gets off to a slightly rocky start but gets good pretty fast. One of my favorite webcomics, highly recommended.
I love how they immediately assume it’s Howard.
I mean, it is, but it’s still pretty funny.
It’s kind of weird seeing Ruth like this, previously only being familiar with Miss Hostile (And A Little Bit Rapey) over in DoA…
As for Rik and Rumy, my theory is that they were killed in the Alien attack on SEMME headquarters. That took place before the crossover, right?
That can’t be David. Where’s the Hawaiian shirt?
Can we pretend that this accident was painful?
I’m honestly fascinated by Ruth’s glasses.
PS: I am a different John than the one above.
With the exact same Gravatar, bizarrely.
Yeah, there’s only like eight randoms here. I avoided collision with another John (maybe this same one?) over on DoA (I’ve got Billie over there), but not so lucky here, I guess.
I should just start using my full name hereabouts.
(I’m the same John as the one above, and different than the one that started this subthread.)
That last name thing is a good idea. *adds*
Heh. Where was this Ruth when Malaya showed up in Shortpacked? Oh well.
She had been reincarnated into Lucy.
You’ll find out on March 18, 1999.
It begins!
