Alternatively her eyes have given up on escaping Mary’s skull after the several failed attempts over the past few pages so they’re screwing themselves back into their sockets.
Also, unless my memory is way off, he mentioned somewhere that about this time he was dealing with depression and as part of it had started to hate this comic and its characters, which he discussed in a newspost at the time — and which absolutely caught him off guard, because he had no memory of this and was still fond of them.
We actually see Mary later on in It’s Walky!. Thing is I didn’t really understand that her husband at the time Wasn’t Howard until someone else pointed it out to me, in, I think one of the forums of Shortpacked!
From there I figured the two had divorced and Mary was finally dealing with her hypocrisies. Y’know, off camera. I thought it was a nice touch. Until it wasn’t.
More than that, Mary already knows she’s pregnant, but she was hoping that nobody else would figure it out. Once Danny caught on, Mary’s plans came to a screaming halt: one doesn’t, after all, get pregnant without having sex, which means Mary’s been lying about that, which means (a) Billie was telling the truth and (b) there’s a clear side to be on in this argument.
Wow I did not even realize Howard was in the car until now; I thought Mary was sitting directly behind Danny…
Wait what has Howard even been doing this entire time what with Mary getting all strangle-happy?
You know, Mary’s eyes in that first panel are pretty strong evidence for the “Mary is actually just concussed” theory.
Alternatively her eyes have given up on escaping Mary’s skull after the several failed attempts over the past few pages so they’re screwing themselves back into their sockets.
Things just get worse and worse for Howard.
Why the rush to the end, 90s Willis? Just that eager to get to It’s Walky!, I suppose?
It had to begin on a certain day, which I would look up except that that would lead to archive binging.

…Hunh. There’s a location tag and it’s the same as the one from the other car chase.
Then again I guess there can only be so many highways leading away from that house, so it’s entirely plausible that it ended up being the same route.
Just noticed, is Howard’s full name supposed to sound like “cowardice?”
His middle name is Whitney, or Whit for short. So he’s “Witless.”
Just fact-checked. (Didn’t know we had a new Walkypedia on Wikia.)
Howard’s the middle name and Whitney’s the actual first name.
Quick Light Spoiler.

I thought he was Howard too.
His name was Peter Paul. He is named that just so they can be Peter Paul and Mary.
But Howard actually appears on his own in It’s Walky.
From there I figured the two had divorced and Mary was finally dealing with her hypocrisies. Y’know, off camera. I thought it was a nice touch. Until it wasn’t.
I can’t tell who is getting the worse deal: Mary or Howard.
Dude noone’s gonna point out how FRIGGIN’ WIERD Panel 2 Danny looks.
You mean how it looks like it was scanned in differently then the other panels.
So…okay then does Mary THINK she’s pregnant, is that why she flipped out when Sarah called her parents…so it’s “Quick Howard marry me, time?
Or is she just being her concussed, weird ass self?
Uh. She IS pregnant. That’s what’s going on. The concussed thing was a joke.
More than that, Mary already knows she’s pregnant, but she was hoping that nobody else would figure it out. Well, a prominent woman in her religion supposedly got pregnant without having sex.
Ye-ahh. Mary clearly lacks a few important qualities that the Madonna was supposed to have — humility, patience…
And then there’s that whole chastity thing. Although she’d claim otherwise.
Are you really assuming that their respective situations were different?
Countdown, initiated.

And we’re supposed to care about Mary why…?
Because there is something about Mary?
Sorry, couldn’t resist.
I don’t think we are actually.
Wow I did not even realize Howard was in the car until now; I thought Mary was sitting directly behind Danny…
Wait what has Howard even been doing this entire time what with Mary getting all strangle-happy?
Restraining her??
…totally would have read a comic about the domestic hijinks of Mary and Howard.
You could call it Mary Me.
