…. so, help me out here. I’m a bit disoriented. Should I be focusing on Linda playing favorites between her children, or on her using her own children as weapons, or children in general as weapons, or on her abandoning her own daughter to strangers, or on her kidnapping those strangers’ son?
Something that had to have happened in this scenario: Mr. and Mrs. Walters belittling the incompetent doctor who initially announced ‘it’s a boy’. ‘How can you deliver babies and not be able to tell?’ and so on.
How can you tell which of two newborns is gonna be the more dangerous one? Did Walky pop out and immediately start strangling the doctor for slapping his ass, or did Linda just assume out of good old-fashioned sexism?
Linda: “Doctor, what does the scouter say about his power level?”
Doctor: “It looks like it’s over 9000.”
Linda: “And the girl?”
Doctor: “Just under 9000.”
Linda: “What’s that over there?!”
[Swaps babies while doctor is distracted]
Honestly, if any of the babies were supposed to have been “more dangerous” it should have been Beef. Because Walky and Sal look the same, whereas Beef could potentially have been twice the size of the others.
So…you used the less dangerous, and thus more vulnerable, one as a decoy to keep the potentially murderous aliens from finding him because…he’s more likely to be able to take care of himself?
More likely because Walky was more likely to say: “Conquer the world and enslave the human race? Cool! So long as there’s nachos in it for me, I’m in!”
Man, I really don’t give a shit about Walky getting a more angsty backstory. He just did some pretty reprehensible shit last chapter.
A lot of his more recent character developments feel more like spur-of-the-moment changes because young-Willis. suddenly decided he wanted to write a different story- which from the past author notes looks like it was true. I feel like Walky is young-Willis’ weird brand of Mary Sue in that he’s always blameless and idealized in all the plots he’s written into. I’m so glad DoA Walky is more fleshed out and consistent (and frankly, less pretentious).
…I’m not getting “shitty mother” so much as “paranoid delusional mother whose delusions are being reinforced by the facts.”
She needs help. And to be kept away from children, of course. And to be kept away from positions of power. But mostly she needs psychiatric help and maybe medication.
I’m pretty sure that everything wrong with Sal and Walky on a personal level and certainly everything that has gone wrong in their lives is Linda’s fault. She’s not evil, just psychopathically focussed on her objectives. Nothing and nobody, not even the safety and happiness of her children, are more important to her than achieving those objectives.
Have I ever mentioned that I think Linda’s a shit mother?
Because holy crap on a cracker is she a shit mother.
Wrong things for the right reasons…a dick move by her but one that is understandable for the sake of the planet
She could be a good soldier and still a shit mother.
Not that she’s a good soldier either. Her running of SEMME is a showcase in incompetence and mismanagement.
Is Sal being the unfavorite a multiuniversal constant?
Willis once said on twitter that Sal being well adjusted made his brain short circuit so it appears so, sadly.
…..

….Na it’s all good she’s one of the good guys.
Tough decisions had to be made.
Why do those “tough decisions” always seem to involve sacrificing other people?
Mom of the fucking year.
Why the hell did she have to use Sal as a decoy? Couldn’t she just have used her government ties to get protection?
Against Head Alien and Chesterfield? Probably not.
I guess DoA Linda’s the “nice” one. And that’s really sad.
Linda is the woooooooorst.

(I mean, I’m assuming they weren’t in on it, I can’t remember if they were, swapping out with the next bassinet over seems spur of the moment.)
p sure they knew

The woman was born to be leader of SEMME.

On top of that why are you afraid of some Alien Douchebag when you and one other kid wiped the floor with him and his army when you were fourteen.
More likely because Walky was more likely to say: “Conquer the world and enslave the human race? Cool! So long as there’s nachos in it for me, I’m in!”

Holy shit Linda is a terrible mother.

So, basically, Linda is Albus Dumbledore?
? When they were born, Sal and Walky weren’t yet abductees, right? So they didn’t yet have super powers?
Can’t remember if it’s been stated yet, so not sure if I should say something.
