Where’s my Prince Charming?
on December 18, 2016 at 12:01 amIn case you couldn’t guess, this strip ran on April 1st.
April 1st is also Walky’s birthday (and Sal’s), because I was born on April 3 and I’ve always been kinda low-vis pissed that I wasn’t born two days earlier on Be An Asshole Day.
I think I appreciate the silliness of April Fools more as an adult than I ever did as a kid. It’s a day when you gotta be extra skeptical of everything, which as a skeptic I like.
The best joke is that you have Fuller House running in the advert space at the moment
April Fool’s Day can be fun! Sometimes. I dunno, when I was epileptic, that day was hell on the internet. One more fucking screamer and I’d have lost it.
On that note – I realize we most likely are never ever ever getting to April in Dumbing of Age, but please picture – Carla learning Sal’s birthday is April Fool’s. She’s in candy land.

I don’t think those stains came from Smarties…
I guess that Josses my headcanon that Sal was born just before midnight on March 31st, and so managed to be a day older than her slacker twin brother. (And not the April Fool.)
If it makes you feel better, in the DoA!verse Sal is indeed the older twin*.
*She calls him her ‘slacker lil bro’ when she’s talking to Jason.
Did those farts Joyce provided get a little messy?
See, having an April Fools Birthday means people play tricks on YOU! Like me giving my Mother Bambi on BluRay, but also putting a rubber snake in the box. She dropped the box before she even saw the movie. Freaked her out enough that I had to pick the box up and take the snake out before I gave it back to her. Then we watched Bambi together.
Was Bambi itself a really dark prank? You know, with the dead mom stuff and all?
Yes, Walky. Yes you are.
“Happy birthday! Now it’s time to open your presents!”
“They’re empty!”
“April fools!”
