Walky can’t evade my mad journalism skillz
on August 5, 2016 at 12:01 amChapter: Guess Who's Coming to Denver
Characters: Danny Wilcox, Jennifer Billingsworth
Location: Dina's apartment
Yes, Billie’s journalism skillz should definitely be rendered with a “z,” that is precisely appropriate.
Through all of It’s Walky! so far, I had yet to show the other end of the equation when SEMME told the world their agents were dead so that they could continue operating in secret. Sure, we see Danny and Joe get the news about Joyce, but Walky had altered the details of Joyce’s disappearance against protocol, portraying her as leaving forever to do missionary work rather than giving her a fictional tragic death. So, hey, here’s Danny learning his lifelong best friend is “dead.”
That’s a brief phone call.
might not be over, just a moment of disbelief at what he heard
I assume it was an automated message, and that the name of the deceased was read by a computer program, which horribly botched it.
“Hello. We are sorry to inform you that your friend — j0sEff r0zenTal — is dead. The cause of death was — t0O m4ny orGiez. We are sorry for your loss. Have a nice day.
HAHAHAHA
SEMME has GLADOS do all their voice messaging?
“Joe is kill.”
someone tried to kill his lonely and missed
I forget what was the cover story on how they were told Joe died.
Burned to death while engaged in an orgy with five women as I recall.
He probably always wanted to go out with a bang.(I’ll show myself out.)
This is unrelated and possibly already addressed but does canon bisexual Danny have strange feelings meeting his ex-girlfriend’s unknown twin brother or does the Joe dying thing sort of distract him? Wouldn’t that be the worst to conflate as you process both?
arguably the biggest problem is he’s Danny
wonk wonk
Well he’s met Walky before…and had strange feelings about it as I recall.
I don’t suppose the feelings would be any stronger than meeting any of your partners siblings. Wouldn’t that be like asking a bisexual in a relationship with a man whether said man’s sister gives them weird feelings? Hell, isn’t that like asking a straight man whether looking at his wife’s younger sister gives him weird feelings?)
And I think Danny’s earlier thoughts related to the fact that Sally reminded him of someone he knew in general and couldn’t place it.
Honestly, (this is anonymousish right?) my husband’s very similar looking younger brother does give me weird feelings. Seriously, it’s like looking through a time portal at my husband five years ago. It doesn’t help that he’s currently sporting the same mohawk my husband used to wear.
Billie: “Joe is… dead??”
Voice on Phone: “That’s right– dead sexy.”
Danny: “Joe, is that you?”

Also,
He died having sex with too many women as an elephant sat on him at the moment of climax.
Hey, Billie… I hate to have to inform you of this but plenty of us have shared a twin bed (as typically used “twin” and “single” mean the same mattress size in the US) with another person for extended periods. Two people as comparatively small as Dina and Walky would have plenty of space to sleep comfortably depending on their sleep habits and this was 2001 which was during a period when the traditional Japanese style futon (as opposed to the foldout sofa style frame futon) got a big surge in popularity for a while in the US making it another possibility.
So, you like to (Do It On My) Twin Bed? 😀
I was going to say, “Wait, you just saw him in the elevator five minutes ago,” but then I remembered that’s Joe’s face wasn’t visible there.
