And here we have a Tarantugun. (It’s “tarantula” + “gun,” get it???) These guys are some of my oldest “characters,” designed in third grade to be bad guys for Ultra Car to shoot at in spaceship mode. In other words, they’re older than basically everyone except Ultra Car herself, Danny, Joe, and Howard. They… didn’t look nearly as sophisticated as this, but they had this same general red, purple, and orange color scheme. Back then my coloring philosophy seemed to be “all of them.” I redesigned them to be sleeker for It’s Walky!, repurposing them as Martian sentries.
These days, Sal has one on her arm as a tattoo.
The Transformers influence is definitely obvious with this design. I actually really like it, though.
I’m starting to suspect that Willis is a bit of a Transformers fan.
Ya know, I’d never have realized that was what her tattoo was supposed to be without the comment to that effect.
Heck yeah, Big (Boss) Damn Heroes!
So in the DOA-verse, do Tarantuguns originate from the Ultra-Car cartoon, or the Dexter & Monkey Master cartoon? (That’s a choice; I’m not looking for just a “yes” answer.)
Just to mess with you Willis will say that the Tarantugun debuted during the crossover episode and belongs to both.
Why would Sal have a cartoon character as a tattoo? Tattoos are permanent. I don’t see Sal being such a cartoon fan that she would be having one inked on her arm. (I have a friend with Popeye on his arm, but that’s a loooong story and he’s not like Sal in any way.)
She likes bugs.
What about GIR?
Because spiders are bad-ass!
Because she is a giant turbo nerd.
And here I thought it was a generic spider tattoo. Nice.
You know, the more I look at the tarantugun, the more it reminds me of a Bionicle-type creature. Like some sort of cross between a Visorak and a spider-like Rahi creature
I don’t know… for some reason, when I originally saw the Tarantugun, some time ago, it was making me think of Masters of the Universe.
The fact that Head Alien is a cartoon in the Dumbiverse is darkly funny when you realize that, they’re watch a cartoon staring a character who made someone shoot her own boyfriend.
Although, I’m guess Dumbiverse Head Alien is closer to Invader Zim or Pinky and the Brain
And Dumbiserve Monkey Monster is the assistant, but he is probably not that crazy like GIR is.
Well, the Invader Zim comics were darker than the TV show. We basically are reading the darker comics version of the DoA universe cartoon.
What’s funnier is that in a cross-universal cosmic sense, Dexter’s biggest fans are also his biggest victims. Joyce, Walky and Dorothy all love him and he has seriously fucked them up the most out of anyone else. Sal too, if the Tarantuguns featured in his cartoon at any point.
This must be what it’s like to be God.
Why is Dina still wearing her hat even though she’s underwater?
Just because …
Lith was also wearing her hat while underwater so it’s a SEMME etiquette!
Dina wears her hat to bed. Only SPOILER can cause Dina to remove her hat.
Y’know, I know next to nothing about Transformers…
…but I can definitely say this thing would fit right in in a Mega Man X game.
