SMOK!
on February 8, 2017 at 12:01 amWhen you set a scene on an actual 3D object, like this CGI Martian spaceship, you actually have to constantly consider how you stage everything that happens, rather than kinda fudging it. Where is Walky standing? Where is Joyce standing? That kinda thing. It kind of forces you into doing some more interesting “camera” angles, like with panel 2 there.
Ow, that’s gotta hurt. Right in the ego.

Head Alien is pretty resilient.
They’re going up against the guy who survived his own cremation!
Well technically he didn’t survive.
Head Alien, or as I like to call him, “The Extraterrestrial Football”.
It seems like they’re playing a combination of football, volleyball, and possibly other sports, with Head Alien as the ball.
I think it’s been widely accepted by our species to call such combination of ball sports “Calvinball”
Nah, Calvinball is more complex. If they’re not wearing masks of some kind and making up rules as they go, it isn’t Calvinball.
That’s not a dropkick, that’s a drop kick! I wish it were a dropkick…
Coming here from : Lock! SMOK!
From TODAY’S DOA, dammit, messed up some tags.
And two smoking barrels? (That’s tomorrow’s strip.)
Bad, Joyce, BAD!
You can’t spike if you’re the last one to touch the villain!
Happy Feet!
Alien abuse. 😛
#Alienshavefeelingstoo
That looks like “Alien shave feelings too,” whatever that means.
That’s not a dropkick, that’s a volley. Which is a shame, as a dropkick would have looked pretty cool.
Random trivia: “Smok” in Polish means “dragon”.
And “Smak” means “taste”, right?
When my eyes first glanced over the strip before reading it, my brain picked out the words “spike” and “T.V.” and turned them into “Spike T.V.” and I was like, whaaaaat?
I apologize for this totally content-free post.
