Ruth and Howard at home for Christmas
on June 6, 2013 at 12:01 amChapter: Home for Christmas
Location: Ruth and Howard's mom's house
I’m not sure of the inspiration for Ruth and Howard’s mom’s house. It looks vaguely familiar, but it could just be a pretty generic house.
I am tagging Ruth and Howard’s mom as “Mrs. Lesse” even though she’s divorced and probably got her old name back. It saves me from having to think up a maiden name.
Oh gee, I wonder if Ruth’s parents don’t get along. And if that may have anything to do with why she is the way she is.
Obviously her last name would be Moore.
Damn, beat me to it!
Wasn’t Mr.Lesse’s first name “Dick”? I remember reading that on Walkypedia or somewhere. Or that might have just been fanon.
Pffff. Dickless….
“Yes, this man has no dick.”
Well, that’s what I heard!
How much is hair worth? I know a woman who had waist-length hair who got a few hundred bucks for it when she chopped it off, but would anyone buy Howard’s short hair? Surely you can get that stuff by the bagful from your local barbershop.
Well, maybe those are cheap plastic ornaments.
I had a friend who grew his hair out for a year and a half. He’s just cut it off, and they gave it to a cancer charity to make into wigs. Male hair is especially desired as men don’t often grow their hair out long enough for it to be useful when cut.
I think the good that came out at the end is the only reason his girlfriend didn’t dump him. It did look bloody awful.
That’s pretty interesting, thanks!
On another note, I think I’ve found the perfect summer job…
Oh, and the obvious maiden name for their mom is Moore.
Now I see that GoldStarz beat me to it by an hour. Ha, how did I miss that?
Fulle might be another option.
Actually I know of a woman who still uses the name of the man she divorced after a decade.
My mom also still uses her married name even though shes been divorced for over 30 years.
I know one of those, too. But her maiden name was “Failing”, so.
DoA makes this punchline lose a bit of its punch. Or direct it right to the gut.
I thought Mr. and Mrs. Lesse got divorced after Mr. Lesse cheated on her. That probably hadn’t been decided yet, though.
Ive known many more women who kept their married names after divorce than those who switched back to their maiden names. My wife kept her married name after divorcing her first husband. Of course she had no real attachment to her maiden name, as her whole family was kind of worthless.
Lots of people keep their married name after divorce mainly because it requires significant effort and inconvenience to change your name. Most people only want to do that once.
Ah depressing domestic situations of an idiot and a depressed person. truly comedy gold.
