hopefully it isn’t a faux pas to reply to something that’s three years old, but I read this comic/description, thought “yes she can,” then went to check the comments. younger me wins this time, I guess.
(also jesus christ, 2018 was three years ago? admittedly I don’t remember it very well, because it was an, interesting year)
also from the timestamp I’m 99% convinced this was back when I checked IW and DoA every night with my awful Nintendo 3DS internet connection, for reasons
Just imagine if she’d had a rope trap there. We could have avoided the whole car chase and people getting shot at mess, and skipped straight to butthole dad under a pile of cops. (Or dangling above a pile of cops, as the case may be.)
Wait, I’ve been gone for months crushed under executive dysfunction and long comic backlog. Was the related strips bit actually removed as a result of that trend?
To be fair, most of the time the juxtopositions of the titles weren’t interesting, I think people were overdoing it by posting whatever random thing they got instead of sticking to ones that made some sort of sense as an implied sequence of events. *shrug*
I know it isn’t Joe’s fault that Dina’s neuroses compounding are going to lead her down that road again I’ve read so many times because I like my heart breaking, but god, it’s too much to bother trying to like him every time a new arc breaks ground in his character development.
It doesn’t help the story ends up jumping into Joe territory almost immediately after…well, what’s about to hit the fan regarding poor Dina, but I don’t know if it’s just my painfully blunt aromanticism compounding the fact I can’t relate to Joe or I’m just a spoilsport. Because everything about his character feels not only done a hundred times over but it’s also is a rerun of a show I really can’t stand aka oh my god serial dater learning to open up to someone romantically and it’s so hard for him and idk why I’m complaining about Joe when Dina’s the focus of the strip today but I probably can’t say much about her without just turning into a goddamn blubbering mess.
psssht, yes she can.
If you can’t solve the problem with rope traps, then it’s a stupid problem anyway.
Didn’t she try that with Mike?
In other news, I’ve got an idea for my next DnD character.

Hopefully some day, a Dumbing of Age villain will wave off Dina, concluding that she’s no threat unless she figures out how to make rope traps.
Dammit. Because of you, I had to go back and re-read that storyline.
Again. Because any time someone links to it, I have to re-read it. It’s like crack.
It’s the Willis TVTropes!
For some you need bear traps.
Where does she get all the convenient rope from anyway? Is Dina always carrying some rope just in case?
Rope space. It’s a pocket dimension adjacent to hammer space.
Dinosaurs invented rope, of course.
Jesus, I thought that last panel was way darker than it was. Don’t get the joke either way.
That rope trap gag was cute, Dina.

Yes

THANKFULLY

Dina, don’t hang Joe.
