Female name, comes from the Latin ‘una’ meaning one. Associated with truth, unity and the Anglican church. Related to Agnes, and has six variants: Euna, Oona, Oonagh, Unagh, Unah and Unna.
Hmm, some of those sound Gaelic to me. Time for RESEARCH!
It’s what unimaginative royals name their first child if it happens to be a daughter, probably as a reverence to unimaginative ancient romans, where such a child would have ended up as “Prima”.
I’m sorry, unimpressed coed, but that clearly isn’t dirt. Joe obviously has three beans black beans stuck to his face. He must have had Chipotle for lunch.
It’s interesting how different Joe is here than in Dumbing of Age, in that he still has more or less the same personality at this point in the story but is a lot less… suave.
Joe is, as newer work very clearly demonstrates, a physically imposing fellow. And here he is, bellowing at the top of his lungs, that this woman ought to be sexually attracted to him.
Of course he won’t resort to assault, but UnCo does not know that.
I’unno, I think it’d be scarier if unimpressed coed weren’t so obviously unimpressed. He’s all ranting and emitting punctuation and spittle, and she’s just, “Yeah, whatever. You’ve got something on your chin.”
Unimpressed coed’s kind of awesome. Can we get her over in DoA? She’d make a way better roommate for someone than Guns.
She was (will be) in Squad 48 with Mandy, Grace, Marcie, and Tootsie (Sierra, in DoA). She hasn’t made the jump to the Dumbiverse because Willis hates her, but ’round about the end of March, he was complaining because he was trying to figure out room assignments for the minor characters and was coming up a girl short, and posted a Dumbified version of Guns on Tumblr, which I’m still not sure whether it was an April Fool’s or not.
Unimpressed coed would be way better. There are so many people in the Dumbiverse who could really use someone to be unimpressed at them.
Yeah, that shit is gonna get you expelled, Joe. Blocking a woman off in the hall, demanding attention, then assaulting her when she refuses? This is why I like DoA’s Joe better. That Joe is actually sympathetic. This Joe was basically a potential rapist.
To be honest, this feels like it’s not Joe at all but somebody who magically got Joe’s body for a few hours or days, and doesn’t realize that a body and a little signifier of manhood is not really all it takes. I can’t imagine someone as discriminating as Sarah giving this guy the time of day, never mind all the other women he’s allegedly successfully slept with at this point.
Unimpressed co-ed looks peaceful one moment, inquisitive the next, and then becomes passionate in a non sexual way. Still passionate though. I’m unexpectedly aroused by this woman.
“Unimpressed coed” should totally make her way to Dumbing of Age.
Her name can be Una!
I’ve never heard of that name before. What’s its etymology?

She might have already! Just can’t tell ’cause style shift.

She looks like a female version of the Hacker character.
If you mean Alex (aka Dark Power 451), I think it’s been established that Alex looks like a female version of Alex.
I say this is Alex, aged a little for sure (it’s some time ago we last saw him) and—although still skinny—with tiny moobs now.
If it weren’t for it disrupting IW!, we could also go for “Post-transition Alex.”
She is, but it involves mace.

Support for my secret insecurity hypothesis is mounting.
Why #@!x you, indeed?!?!
I think we’ve just established that she doesn’t want to #@!x you, Joe.
Also, she’d probably be more impressed if you weren’t spraying spittle on her glasses.
I’m pretty sure he was censoring “damn”…
Really? I thought it was stab.
Oh, wait, she doesn’t want to. Right.
Man, this strip is kind of scary.

Who’s Guns?

… It’s been a while since I’ve read IW! Did Guns actually ever do anything other than have guns (hence the name)?

Check that entitlement! I get the urge to enroll him in Dr. Bean’s gender studies class.

This is what happens when you try to hit on Daria.
Unimpressed Co-ed deserves a bigger role. 😛
