“My time in the light is short” is a Transformers reference, obviously. In the third season episode “Five Faces of Darkness, Part 2,” Rodimus Prime says it as he appears to be dying, and Arcee CLAIMS he’s quoting Optimus Prime’s dying words in The Transformers: The Movie. But he’s not. Optimus said something very similar to it in an earlier draft of the movie which the writers of those episodes were working from, but whatevs. In the released film, Optimus said, “Soon I will be one with the Matrix” instead.
The point is, punching people in the face is hilarious.
On the bright side Jason you are in a pub, so you can “drink away the pain”.
oh COME ON
Walky was CLEARLY in nut-punching range
Maybe that’s what he was aiming for.
Tomorrow’s Strip:
Walky staggers about, telling anyone willing to listen about how he “was once a man.”
Holy shit G. I. Joe actually looks amazing.
That movie sort of is amazing in a “get drunk with your friends and laugh like hell” sort of way.
That being said, the opening titles are the most epic thing ever created by man.
Personally the 80’s cartoon and the Renegades cartoon are the only G.I. Joe things I care about.
Ahhhh~ much better you have no idea how long I’ve been waiting for that.
It really is hilarious because it’s Jason. (Said the commenter named Jason.)
Amazingly, alcohol seems to have improved Walky’s judgement.
Can you think of anything that would actually make it worse?
Walky: Tell my tale to those who will hear it, the good along with the bad…the rest is silence.
Also, I’m gonna try out a slightly different spelling of my username, may go back if I decide I don’t like it.
hahaha.
One will lay down, one will fall…
Why get drunk so recklessly?
My favorite thing about this has always been Dina’s dull surprise in the last panel.
Well, you can’t blame him. I mean, if you believed you don’t have much time left and had Jason’s face within punching range…
Well, that is one heck of a punch, considering the position his arm was in to start with.
Do not grieve…
I, for one, like the unusual (for IW) up-face angles on both Walky and post-punch Jason. Just thought I should mention that.
Given Walky’s strength, shouldn’t Jason have been hurt worse?
HAHAHAHAHA, nice!
Also, Dina is so… nonchalant-lookin’ about this.
I could much more easily see Walky as the Hot Rod/Rodimus type, getting fed up with a leadership position, going joy-riding and losing his leadership super-macguffin along the way, or saying some ill-thought disdainful remark about a planet that just got destroyed on his watch, or being expected to give a speech and just shouting “let’s do it!” and leaving the stage, than being all super-serious responsible eeyore Optimus about things. Not to mention, Walky also got his position on Squad 128 with special innate abilities, not entirely unlike Rodimus’s ability to open the Matrix.
Going entirely off G1 cartoon continuity, anyway. Somehow even though I wasn’t born until 1989, that’s still the continuity I’ve spent the most time watching. *shrug*
But now I’m picturing Walky with really long, completely immoveable legs, and a giant piece of yellow plastic stuck to his back. Truly the epitome of SEMME.
