Monkey Master, you’re the one!
on April 9, 2016 at 12:01 amYay, it’s Monkey Master, redesigned. The first time he showed up, he was in more-or-less the look I had for him when I first created him at age, like, 8. But I redesigned him from the ground up for one of my art school projects, and so here he is again, lookin’ all made out of more than just boxes an’ stuff. He’d look like this until… well, until Dumbing of Age.
Yeah!!! Martian Colony storyline!!!
He looks cool, but does he have elbows now?
Did 8 year old you come up with that song too? Huh Willis?
Nope, that was Sesame Street. And now I am old, but that’s okay!
Ernie singing the original forever ago, about rubber duckies rather than Monkey Masters:

Nope, old commercial jingle. Although I can’t quite remember what the product was right off the top of my head. Some kind of soap for kids, maybe?
It’s the Rubber Duckie Song from Sesame Street. Written by Jeff Moss, debuting in 1970, I wrote my entire dang undergrad thesis on the Muppets so I know this stuff.
I’m agog that there are people who don’t know it’s Sesame Street.
Shame that the red from those sketches didn’t make it to the final design. That looks really cool.
My orange markers were just dark!
Well I guess it shouldn’t come as a huge surprise that back in the day, the folks who made Prismacolor(?) markers had better colour sense than a certain young cartoonist with a computer.
I love the implication here that Head Alien has seen Sesame Street.
Monkey Master! Master!
Monkey Master: Now with Triangles!
More importantly…now with functioning elbows!
Be glad. Be very glad, that titanic wasn’t a thing back then.
(it wasn’t, right ?)
AHEM

This reminds me of Shockwave emerging from the Atlantic, squishing an unfortunate man walking his dog to ensure there are no witnesses, in one of the Marvel comics.
