This is very similar to me at X-mas time these days as well. It was my mom’s favorite holiday and I haven’t been able to bring myself, in the last nine years since she died, to even decorate or even pay more than scant lip service to a festive mood. I bury myself in the kitchen and make an amazing dinner (cooking is as much my respite as it is my “day” job) and even put on “A Very Scary Solstice” and “An Even Scarier Solstice” but decorations, “proper” X-mas carols, baking X-mas cookies… they’re still a bit too emotionally charged to not make me a bloody emotional mess.

Merry Christmas.
Have a sad orphan.
Ya don’t say.
I do. I do say.
I feel like I’m gonna be like that this Christmas because they’ll make me work =_=
SPENT TWO YEARS WORKING AHEAD TRYING TO AVOID EXACTLY THIS BUT NOPE

Ah’ve missed you, Tony.
Right, boys, we’re moving out.
Hi, Danny!
I think this is my favorite one yet.
Four words
We’re finding Sal
Her name is Joyce
Queen of the Ponies
Did we win?
Dialogue for potential follow-up strip:
Daisy! Beef!
Get on the bed
What’s Joe DOING?
Walkerton, settle down!
I know you miss your family, but things’ll get better!
Off-switch
BOOF!
What happened to the NEW YOU?
Why are you in costume?
What’s Joe DOING?
There are some aspects of Christmas that I like, and some I dislike, so I’m kind-of a mix of Walky and Tony around Christmastime.
The location tag says “Squad 128’s apartment” but it looks more like it takes place in “Featureless white void”.
most strips that take place in this apartment also look like a featureless white void
Does that room have a sentient line in it?
I would
It was me the whole time
Good commander
Hey, Walky. I didn’t know you came here.
