I honestly have a harder time reconciling Dorothies on either side of the Walkyverse/Dumbiverse divide than any other character. Like, Danny? Hugely different in the Dumbiverse, but I feel like years of writing experience in between is enough of a factor that I just go ‘eh sure’ when this Danny shows up and they do have similar enough flaws on some level. Dina’s another ‘years of experience.’ Becky’s not as developed here but I can easily see her having Dumbiverse Becky’s bombasticness after a few years against the Soggies. And Sal and Joyce still read pretty similarly on core beats but different experiences, probably because they’re so central.
I hadn’t read most of the Walkyverse arcs with Dorothy before now, and I agree that she seems the most different from her DoA counterpart than anyone else.
Well, what marks the most prominent difference is this Dorothy’s failure to achieve her goals and lacking a support system when hitting bottom. Also being born in the… 80’s? She learned a different moral compass!
I misread the page title as “It’ll be fun aromantic,” and I thought “Oh awesome, are we getting some aro rep?” But then I saw no, I misread. It’s more of these straight people (and also Robin and Ultra Car).
so what happens if you get a bad witness who won’t sign the form or whatever, I wonder
*ponders if anyone has such a story to contribute to Carolyn Hax’s Wedding Hootenanny*
I sorta like Joyce glomping Walky, because sometimes the verbal message of “we’re eloping and will shortly be husband and wife” gets lost.
Gosh, when did people stop using ‘glomp’? I want to say… 2005?
Wait, we don’t use it anymore?
Don’t worry, we still use glomp. Pay no attention to the mechanical monkey
WHICH ONE?!?!
I have not stopped using glomp.
Even so, in the haze of time everything has telescoped down and I figured glomp is fine for the original run of this comic.
“Pay no attention to the mechanical monkey”?
I’m trying to figure out which sly-eyed Joe I’m supposed to pay attention to.
Mid-2000s comic reruns warrant mid-2000s Internet vernacular.
But you thought… what, Dorothy?

But Dorothy? Just does not compute.
Yeah, me too. Totally weird given how generally level-headed her DoA counterpart is generally portrayed.

I do not like you, Walkyverse Dorothy.
