Hmm. That last panel may be the closest we’ve ever got to seeing what the aliens actually look like beneath the helmets. (Actually, does even Willis know what they look like?)
You’ve got to love Alien technology. That there’s a device capable of subtly reprogramming dozens of human minds at once, tweaking their allegiances while keeping their memories, autonomous functions, motor skills, and learned skills intact, and giving them complicated, updatable, not-preprogrammed, situation-specific instructions.
That’s just the part of the user interface for switching the mode of the abductees. (And obviously completely sufficient for that purpose.) We do not know whether the complete user interface consists of more elements some of which might be more suitable for pre- and re-programming. As this is wireless alien technology (note the antenna), the interface could well be distribute over any number of separate devices.
(Or would you think that the little remote with the forward and back buttons and sometimes built in laser pointer is already the complete interface of the beamer-presentation-showing lecturer’s laptop computer?)
SHOOT HIM NOW
SHOOT HIM NOW
I’ll take Door #3!
You should always switch doors.
Stay out of this. He doesn’t have to shoot you now!
HE DOES SO HAVE TO SHOOT ME NOW!
I DEMAND THAT YOU SHOOT ME NOW!
*BLAM*
…you’re dethhhpicable.
What a maroon!
Head Alien in Panel 9 is just… damn. I love when he switches from funny to deadly serious (and then back again).
Its more like he has troll face on all the time
How Does “drop the thing” translate to “push the button? “
The button is at a lower altitude than it previously was, and lowering the altitude of things is the end goal of dropping them.
because there’s basically no [additional] penalty for pushing the button vs. not pushing it
If you stare too long into the Head Alien’s visor, you can see the endless abyss.
Like seriously, stare at it. It’s super creepy.
All I see is the head of a penis.
Gotta love Joyce, polite to the end.
HA IS ….just.
Jason is Jason…why didn’t he just shoot him.
Also gotta love the way HA’s helmet crinkles when he scowls etc.
Yea, I was also going to comment on that.

I’m pretty sure that’s just light shining off the visor, like always.

And the interface consists of a single button.
Dozens? Honestly considering their casualty rate I think it might be hundreds.
And yes. Good old alien technology.
And yet you also get things like the jetpack.
I’m pretty sure that’s just the switch.
It’s due to the mental conditioning they received, Joyce has been unaffected because she wiped her memories, including everything HA stuck in there.
He borrowed it from the Japanese giant robot industry of the mid-60s.

Alien season!
Duck season!
Alien season!
Duck season!
Gloating accomplished.
This is why he is my favorite villain.
