Mike is not an asshole. Mike is unique. His sort of uniqueness in itself is unique.
Mike will look over a situation, discern the active idiot factor, inform said factor of his stupidity, if possible he will then compound the base issue to involve as many people as possible: and then fade off into the night. Leaving behind chaos, but…sadder and wiser idiots – if they live through it.
During the Head Alien’s Denver Demonstration of Late Spring 2002, Tony is rampaging through the streets. Mike, in a slew of scalding sexual slander, claims to have had sex with Mrs. Walkerton while Sal watched.
Mike is, of course, the only character to appear in all David Willis webcomics, as Bart O’Ryan doesn’t appear in Roomies! or (as yet) in Dumbing of Age.
Ah, and Mike finally talks in this universe. Welp, I still have residual fear of him from when I used to read Shortpacked years ago so… Just so you know Mr. Willis… You know how to leave an impression with Mike.
I don’t even specifically remember the things he’s done back in Shortpacked but I still remember the fear.
Transmisogyny is a real issue that affects real disadvantaged groups, whereas Mike is an asshole in a very cartoonish manner that can be entertaining to watch without really hurting any real people.
At least, that’s my take.
Imagine if Sal was nice to Mike. We’d have drunk Mike all the time of course!
It is only later we get to ascertain the depth to which Mike is an asshole.
You’re SEMME’s staff proctologist?
Only on weekends.
And so a legend is born. An implacable man driven by pure hatred.
Yes, I’m talking about…the Saint of Killers.
…Mike. I mean Mike.
Ah, vintage Mike.
Mike is not an asshole. Mike is unique. His sort of uniqueness in itself is unique.

Or he would just have sex with their mother. For a nickel.
TECHNICALLY, when people aren’t STUPID, the elevators will be completely empty, because they tend to go TOWARD the fire.
…or else towards the ground in a far too enthusiastic manner, if they’ve not been fireproofed.
How long till he starts saying he slept with people’s moms?
I know he says it as his dying words – to a MARTIAN, no less – but I can’t remember any times before that.
And I really only remember his dying one because it’s pretty fucking spectacular.

Considering this is the first time Mike speaks, than yeah, it probably is.
Though looking back you were pretty decent with his body language for the time.
Mike is, of course, the only character to appear in all David Willis webcomics, as Bart O’Ryan doesn’t appear in Roomies! or (as yet) in Dumbing of Age.
Damn, I thought it was the potato washer guy.
Joe.
Also, a lot more if you count Mike and Amber’s wedding.
Joe wasn’t in LAWsome.
Mike is the jerk of the people for the people.
Purest mike.

Why is it the transmisogyny of the next strip is abhorrent, but everyone fucking loves the jagweed known as Mike?
I propose mass hysteria.
