Elevator, part 1
on October 18, 2012 at 12:01 amHoly art style change, Batman!
This was the first page of a two-page story I drew for the second Roomies! Book 1 printing in, like, 2009 or so. Since it’s been established that Joyce lives in a different dorm building than Danny, it’s clear that Joyce just rides the Read Hall elevators up and down all day hoping Danny will eventually step into one.
Hooray, we’re getting the bonus material without having to buy the books. But I’ll still buy the books.
I’m waiting for when Joyce inevitably snaps and drinks Danny’s blood in an effort to be closer to him.
Tch. She’s been siphoning blood out of him while he sleeps since before she met him.
Yes, before. She’s just that good.
I’m trying to imagine the inevitable shrine she has set up in honor of him. I bet she stole one of his textbooks for it.
Eh, I don’t need to. Just take the one Helga had in Hey, Arnold! and change all the football-heads to Danny.
I can’t read the last speech bubble in anything but a super-creepy stalker voice Chills
I read that last line with a sort of breathy creepy whisper.
Same here. I didn’t actually think she was creepy (just overexcited and not sure what to do) until this update.
Whoa, already? Man, this “chronological order” stuff is really disorienting.
Hell, the first book presents it as taking place after Redux. Space has warped and time is bendable!
That’s just where I threw it into the book, as a special two-page exclusive story at the end. In my mind, that last Roomies! Redux strip seques immediately into the Ruth flashback story.
And danny starts pressing the emergency button, but oh suprise! it doesn’t work.
Stuck elevator stories trend more towards pregnant women giving birth than people falling in love.
This is the snark talking, but I don’t believe I’ve heard of NON-pregnant women giving birth… 😉
Ok Joyce now your getting just a tad bit creepy.
“Now”?
Oh, and now we see her trademark triangle grin!
Man, seeing crazy Joyce in this more DoA-y style is weird.
