I always felt bad for that truck driver. Do we ever find out what happened to him? Did he go through years of trauma and guilt, feeling responsible even though the other drivers were clearly the ones who caused it? Did he have to go through close scrutiny after the accident and risk losing his job? Need years of therapy before he could stop replaying the incident in his head and wonder if he could have done anything differently, or at least be able to not let the accident control his life? Did he change careers afterwards? Track down the family of this girl whose death he played a part in, and eventually apologize to Howard off-screen? Come to that, did Danny ever spare a thought for him in his Danny-Angst Cloud?
Or did he die at the scene, and did no one ever think to mention there were two casualties in that accident? Because a quick look at the immediate aftermath doesn’t seem to mention it. (Might have been some later, but with all the alien hijinks that ensued and the mess that is the old website, I can’t tell._
He quit his truck driving job, moving in with his parents at the ripe age of 35, and became quite sad an obsessed, spending his meager income on things he doesn’t even like very much, just to ease the pain. His name is Duncan.
Roomies!: Where Everyone is a Terrible Person
Ruth isn’t too bad.
She does have a tendency to not seek professional help.
True, and yet she’s still the best thing going so far.
Which goes to show how terrible everyone else is.

Thank you for making me feel depressed about a fictional who never appears in the comic once.
Hey, someone was going to wonder what happened sooner or later. We may as well feel depressed about it together.
You write the best bedtime stories.
I try.

…Captainswift wins, for making Duncan a tragic figure.
Congratulations. You win indeed. *Applause*
So know we have Duncan’s and BoB Guy’s past covered. Now we need a past for Fredora!
What was BoB Guy’s? Must’ve missed that one.
Howard’s monstrous roommate.

> Well-played.
