BOOM

Characters: Danny Wilcox, Joe Rosenthal
Location: Danny and Joe's dorm room
Back at the beginning of the school year when I first submitted my comic to the Indiana Daily Student, I had already started drawing Roomies! comics in my spare time. However, they weren’t drawn at the right width/height ratio to be usable. Today’s strip is one of those original strips which I redrew to be the proper size.
The original is below:
Joe is like a puppy. I bet he does that out car windows.
And yet it’s not him who’s going to get a dog named after him in a few years.
It’s very convenient that the last panel was big enough to accommodate the extra bars of volume that Joe set the controls to.
Also the squares are very imperfect.
Yes, the panel outlines in Roomies! are very irregular. Also it’s in black and white.
Black and white?! What kind of Bohemian Hippie strip is this?
What a classic song BOOM was.
I could never quite uneerstand the lyrics.
It’s not about the lyrics, man. It’s about that dirty dirty bass.
I kinda think the art in the original strip was better.
I concur.
Same here.
Danny being knocked over in panel 4 of the re-drawn version is more dynamic, but overall, I think the original is much better.
Agreed. You get a better sense (in a cartoonish way) in the original of how loud the speakers are.
Plus, the original doesn’t cross the 180° line.
I agree too, the original strip was cuter and more pleasant to look at.
just my 2 cents here: I, too, am Team Original Strip all the way.
Dan: it’s short for Danny.
How common is that?
These speakers…. THEY GO EVEN HIGHER THAN ELEVEN!
