As you wish.
on January 10, 2016 at 12:01 amThird “Sunday-style” strip in a row! Because this shit is important, I guess! Plain ol’ daily-newspaper shaped strips just won’t do. As the next few years went by, I would increasingly jump into this format as raised stakes called for it, to the point where the entire finale of the strip was a big long-ass full-page-full-color ordeal.
first panel: See Bicycle Bill see!
Ho-kay.
I’m trying to understand that last panel and coming up blank. Why exactly is he brandishing the Mind Wiper?
My guess is he’s going to wipe her memory then give her a new set of parents somehow.
My understanding: His goal was to get Walky and Sal to cooperate with him willingly. Since that didn’t work this time, he decided to cut his losses, eliminate the witnesses, give Sal some serious subliminal mental trauma that he can reactivate if she ever gets out of hand. Then, he’s planning on mindwiping her (which only affects surface memories, not repressed memories or deep seated emotions), assigning her to a new set of parents, and trying again.
My interpretation was that HA was saying that Sal’s new “mommy and daddy” are the mindwiper and himself.
As in, “who’s your daddy?”
Also, that was when Sal learned that when he said “As you wish”, what he meant was “I love you”.
“I will kill your friends and family, to remind you of my love~”
Da-da-da-da-da, da-da-da-da-DIE-ya-da da-da-da-da-die-ya-da…
Sounds like an old, crazy, magic guy I know.
Dumbledore’s darker than I remembered, apparently.
Nice drama here, nice strip layout.
Poor Sal. Never trust an alien. Especially when he thinks he’s James Cagney or something.
Hovercraft, laser canons, memory wiper…Memorex tape recorder. One of these things is not like the other.
That’s right, you can’t get memory wipers like that at Brookstone. Gotta go to hhgregg for that shit.
I don’t get why this works as a trigger for her even after she learns about him. Sure, now it seems like her fault but five minutes seeing him interact with anyone else and it’d be obvious he’s just an asshole who would have killed her parents for funsies anyway.,
You mean like a PTSD trigger? Mental illness isn’t nice and logical like that.
So I get that’s the memory wiper, but what the hell did HA mean by “new mommy and daddy”? Can the wiper implant fake memories or something?
So far it only was used for erasing memories, I doubt HA would make a ”implant memories” button, he’s much better at creating sweet monsters and themed robots.
Pretty sure that later on we’re told that the mind wipers can, in fact, implant fake memories.
Now this is a good villian scene. ” I may have killed your parents but you technicality gave the order
A handheld tape recorder? Man, aliens always have the hi-tech gear!
Wow. Just… wow.
