Gotta check in on our Non-Abductee Fighter Chicks! I mean, Amber’s not exactly at Dumbiverse power levels, but she’s got some experience. Though most of it is of falling off tall things.
This wedding really seems to be stressing baby Stephen, he’s lost the one hair he had on his head when the wedding started!
What we need here is an alien exorcist.
Can a haunted Dorothy see without glasses? Lessee
in retrospect I’m surprised how prevalent “mundanes” came into common use when for a while I was certain that was a term exclusive to Xanth
It was in widespread use in the SCA and possibly other parts of fandom before Xanth existed.
I didn’t get into SCA, wouldn’t have known!
wait, so Amber is inherently more powerful in the Dumbiverse?
Or do you just mean because of her Superhero training?
Walkyverse Amber has been established to basically be blind without her glasses while Dumbiverse Amber just has astigmatism, for one.
DoA Amber actually took self defense classes alongside a bunch of other stuff, plus she’s younger so her general condition is better by default. WV Amber is just gutsy and determined.
Although IIRC we’ve never heard DoA Amazi-girl say she is immune to criticism.
There’s something bittersweetly ironic about Amber refusing to leave Mike’s side… in the middle of fighting Donna. At least I think that’s Donna she’s pushing away from herself there.
I’m also pretty sure that even if we take the number thirty as an exaggeration, there’s only one Axis of Something attack seen in-comic that takes prior to this wedding, since a story where Joe has clearly been without Rachel for some time ran in January 2010 and the second AoS attack (the one with Sarah Palin and the Dinobot parody) ran in May 2010. I choose to explain this to myself by assuming that Sydney made a bajillion of attempts that we just never saw, purely because I like the idea of her having schemes that were just that pathetic.
…come to think of it, what pronouns should we be using for Walkyverse Syndey at this point? Same goes for Malaya
Pretty sure that Malaya can still be “she/her”, since “she/they/whatever” is how Malaya put it.
I suspect given Jocelyne’s cross-continuity existence that Sydney and Malaya ultimately realize they’re nonbinary, as well. In which case, by the same rules as Ultra Car being consistently considered female here well before she/Willis realized, ‘they’ is probably appropriate for Sydney and Malaya can use whichever.
I definitely agree that the idea Sydney’s continued attacking the toystore on a weekly basis and it’s so quickly flouted it was never worth our time to watch as opposed to Batman jokes is hilarious.
Wait, did Amber fight Ninja Rick?
maybe she fought a real ninja
Yes, in the storyline about Ethan’s Tome of the Ages, when Faz attempts a coup to be Galasso’s chosen one.
I thought we all agreed to never talk about that Second Eaton crap again.
OMG, Robin will make me change my nickname!! I hope she wasn’t serious about that agreement.
I thought the Axis of Something only attacked two or three times in Shortpacked, unless I’m forgetting. Or did they attack and fail miserably a bunch more times off-screen?
I’m going with the “Sydney made a million more attempts that we never saw because those attempts were just that pathetic” explanation.
