She’s shooting her love interest. I mean, come on. She already showed her determination to do what she had to do. If she wasn’t upset by her actions when it actually comes time to pull the trigger, she would have to be seriously heartless.
It doesn’t really make sense in the original because she’s perfectly capable of punching him or something to get him off Walky. Like, she isn’t being restrained at all.
And there’s like, not much sense given that she even has any connection to Tony in the original. The redraw seems like her having to stick to the convictions she established at great emotional cost, which is much more interesting for the character than “has no feelings about anything apparently, kills for literally no reason”.
Yes, but in the redraw it’s more obvious that Walky shut down the brainwashing as well as controlling the mechs. It’s obscured by a Mike asshole joke in the original strips, and I missed it.
Wow Walky shutting down the abductees is frigging abrupt in the original dang.
I do kinda like the way Sal shoots Tony in the original, although I cannot help but feel like Tony himself does not really have enough development for the emotional impact.
Still I am enjoying this, the redraws are a nice improvement and reading the logic behind how and why you changed them is really interesting.
Honestly? I prefer the original “Sal coldly, abruptly even, shoots Tony” to the redraw with it being drawn out and her crying in the process.
