I like this comic. I’m not sure I have much to say about it.
I mean, it’s an interesting layout, anyway. I’m PRETTY sure your eyes go from the first panel right to the second, instead of down to the fourth, but okey doke.

A stack of boosters ? if it doesn’t explode, they’ll go deaf .
Or turn their brains to mush.
Panel layout worked for me, though it might have helped that my laptop screen is short enough that I could only see the top of panel 4 when I read the first line. (I could’ve scrolled down a bit, it’s not that tiny of a laptop.)
Same, though I fullscreened the comic page and I think panel 4 is barely narrower than panel 1 enough that it still works.
My eyes followed the intended order.
I like that even Joe thinks it will explode.
You can read the bottom backwards and it’ll still make sense.
Eh, I’m not sure about that.

You’ve mentioned him being a secret genius of engineering, but this is really the first example of Joe showing any engineering competence in the whole series.
No I don’t count nailing two halves of a pin-pong table to a motorized scooter that “magically flies” in defiance of any actual engineering or aerodynamic principles.
