It’s not just you. The lines in both panels 2 and 3 specifically suggest molding/skin-tightness that… is not normal in t-shirts. Like, knit materials just stretch across the breasts and you don’t see the individual outline of the breasts; at most you see the material stretching across the space between the two breasts.
It is, that said, not an unheard of weirdness in comics but it’s not something I really remember seeing before in any of the Walkyverse reruns so far…
I’m about 80% sure it’s referring back to this, in which Linda basically declares Walky crucial to the war effort against the Martians and essentially orders Joyce to stand by his side and “make sure he’s okay.”
I have much praise and few critiques for David’s work, but this was one of the aspects of It’s Walky I liked the least. It just feels too “chosen one” to me that Linda is putting all her chips on Walky, and that’s exacerbated by the fact that her strategies really don’t make a lot of sense. “Tony is strong, but he’s a ticking bomb, so Walky will have to be there to make sure he doesn’t go off. Also, it’s been plainly demonstrated that Walky is also strong and also a ticking bomb, so you’ll have to make sure HE doesn’t go off. After all, you’ve been pretty even-keeled since that time you shot your own clone in the face for representing your sexual urges. THIS IS THE BEST TEAM POSSIBLE.”
I just interpreted that to mean, her universe depends on them being together. She just explained how her entire worldview (on a philosophical and cosmic level) was, if not built on, reinforced by having him there to support her and show her that it’s okay to be joyful and optimistic. And he just tore that supporting structure down and walked away. So, as far as she’s concerned, their relationship breaking down is destroying her universe.
Although, yeah, the part where Linda told her “you and Walky have to be in love or the Martians will destroy the world” is probably what she’s more directly referencing.
You’d rather live in a universe where everything depends on the actions of an unknown amount of specific people, of which you’re almost certainly not one? Because, uh, that’s where you live.
Maybe their relationship threatens the continued existence of the universe. After all, Soggies may rule the Walkyverse. Perhaps them not being together prevents Soggie invasions.
That’s the funny thing about emotions: Objectivity doesn’t matter. What matters is our tiny little platform in the sea of the world. The point is that Joyce’s universe depends on whether she and Walky are together.
Is it me or is Joyce’s shirt… oddly fitted?

yeah idk the universe has Arby’s, so
It…doesn’t, though?
Seriously, what is Joyce on about? For six years this strip has bothered me immensely.

She went to the Gendo Ikari school of superhero teambuilding.
I assumed it was meant to be foreshadowing for the final arc. But yeah, even with that in mind, it doesn’t make a whole lot of sense.

Why am I suddenly reminded of that horrible Zootopia comic now? lol
This one? https://m.imgur.com/gallery/AOoUd
why must you burn my eyes
Because nothing matters, eat Arby’s
Why did I read that whole thing even after I realized it was a parody of something I never read in the first place?
tbh I haven’t read the original either lol
I’m not sure if I’d want to live in a universe where I knew everything depended on the actions of two very specific people.

….You are my universe?
