Characters: Drunk Mike Warner, Jason Chesterfield
Location: Jason's pub
Man, how many future storylines did I mine out of this weird little detail?
In the original version of the strip, the foreground and background were drawn on separate layers, mostly so I could just copy-paste the details of the wall in front of Jason and Mike for each panel. Surprise, I don’t have that background art anymore! Well, I might have it SOMEWHERE, but I don’t have it HERE. And so I ended up recreating the background by tracing over the web version of the original strip.
In Shortpacked!, I tagged drunk Mike separately, so figgered, why not do so here as well? It’s the same Mike!
Man, I seriously want this guy to show up in DoA sometime. And the best part is, that strip moves slow, so Mike could be drunk for weeks.
Or somebody could just keep Mike drunk for weeks…
That mistake was made before.
I’ve have been waiting forever to make this reference
“♫I love your more, then I did the week before♫”
I discovered alcohol!
All told, this character detail you presumably wrote as a gag ended up giving you like, what… two years’ worth of strips maybe? Something along those lines if you add it all up.
As music calms beasts,so does booze for Mike’s inner one.He better hope nobody takes advantage of that. / wink wink
not beasts..”..music calms the savage breast..”
Respect for quiting William Congreve.
*quoting*
not “calms” … *Music hath charms to **soothe** a savage breast*.
Oh, poor Dina.
Poor, poor Dina.
So this is the moment it all started XD
OOOOOOOOOOOH A NICE MIKE APPEARS !!
When it comes to drunks, you have The Angry, The Happy & The Mike.
Excellent. Angry, Happy, & Mike.
Clint Eastwood references never get old.
Red’s Scottish Beer! Brewed in the traditional Scottish manner.
That is, inside sheep stomachs rather than womanly English barrels.
Och! It be extracted from the grains cooked for haggis before all the other organs are mixed in, laddie!
Ah, the introduction of nice!Mike. I think that Jason will loathe Mike when drunk by the end of tonight!
WOAH, Jason! What do you have against Native American?!
I know what Jason means but him saying “the natives” is sort of… uncomfortable.
… I forgot Mike is a drunk that smiles. It’s weird seeing him like… this.
*obligatory snobbish comment about American craft beer surpassing the quality of imports*
Oh, for the days when it was possible for anyone to tolerate American politics.
Happy Mike is great
“Natives?” Jason, c’mon man, phrasing!
I wonder if Drunk Mike is a natural part of Mike, or is it an abductee power? If it’s the latter, does that mean Drunk Donna is also a thing?
