Gotta sprinkle in the character moments while keeping the action lively. Here’s a reference to Shanna’s strained friendship with Katherine, who’s also Will’s ex. Jackie, Will, and Shanna are in a triangle of awkward attraction (Will’s a pretty big slice of beefcake and the female Fans tend to notice), so let’s have Jackie be the one to reach out to Will as he watches Shanna disappear maybe forever.
And let’s establish that Rikk, and by extension all the Fans, can’t tell potential friend from foe just by looking at the ship designs. All this while following through on the last Willis-drawn strip and getting Squad 128 onto the scene. Yeah, I think that’s packed about as tight as it can go.

The ships are entirely different designs, but the Fans have never seen either of those ships before so it makes sense that they might think the SEMME ship is another enemy.
I’ve never heard of a vulva that can do THAT.
Makes you long for the good old toothy variety.
It’s neat to have Fans drop in like this and, as a reader, try to recall where all the relationships are right this very minute.
