So then Mike grabs Daniel
on July 12, 2016 at 12:01 amThat is an incredibly stretchy, awkward way to have Joyce realize that Walky was the one who made up the fake Bulmeria cover story. Like, simply awful. A turd in a storyline I otherwise am still enjoying all these years later.
Is Bulmeria somewhere near Frobnia?
No, first is Narnia and then Frobnia.
Where are those relative to the Great Underground Empire?
Wasn’t that the thing the slaves used to escape the south and later fashioned into the Batcave in the 2005 Christopher Nolan film, Batman Begins?
I think it’s somewhere between San Lorenzo and Qumar

Also,
I’d have to ask then, how would you weave the Walky reveal into the story now?
Off the top of my head, have Joe describe the letters in more detail, revealing Super Obviously Walky-esque elements, like listing all the various kinds of Nachitos she was eating, maybe getting simple stuff about the Bible wrong while describing the missionary work, that sort of thing.
“Pffft, that sounds like Walky wrote– ohh.”
Thanks for explaining the joke. I would have overthought it otherwise.
The question is – Is Bulmeria a real place in the Walkyverse?
My best guess is that depends on whether he took geography before or after his “get good grades to impress Dorothy” phase (shown in Joyce & Walky paid strips).
Knowing this universe somebody will claim some chunk of land and make it anytime soon.
I do love that Walky’s apparently been taking the time to write out letters through the last couple of years to keep up the facade and make sure her friends didn’t think she hated them.
