In high school (some 7, 8 years ago), we would make jokes about rape all the time, and it makes me sad that we were so immature about it. We didn’t fully understand the implications of rape at all (I think few of us would have any experience with it, thank goodness), but things like that were part of my high school experience.
Yeah, it very much is. I get that this is Walky being, whether intentionally or not, very oblivious and very much making a type of comment you’d have heard from someone his age and gender in the time period this was originally written but it comes across even worse now than it did at the time.
Yeah. Neverminding the awkwardness of the last panel, I don’t understand why Joyce wants Walky to pay up on the bet- is she trying to say he stopped acting mature because they had sexxtreem cuddles? That doesn’t make any sense.
Wait, how is fucking immature? (Or deciding you’re not ready to fuck, if that’s what they’re laughing at?) Is it because they were at work, because that would make a certain amount of sense.
Okay, a given this isn’t one of the best strips, but my biggest questions are both why is Joe so indiginant at Walky pointing out Dina initiated and went over the top (which is how I would describe it without this comic’s dialogue) and why does Joe, not Walky, even throw out a rape comparison? Pretty uncharacteristic.
I’m mostly sure Joe’s noting that Walky was just as much a willing participant as Dina was, making his panel three deflection amount to bupkis. He’s calling out Walky denying responsibility.
Unfortunately, it’s kiiiiiiiinda muddled by the punchline.
yeah this strip is… bad
Man 2002 Willis sure loved jokes about rape
Yyyyyeah. Suffice to say, this is not the last time we’ll see that sort of humor.

Yeah, this one’s cringe-worthy isn’t it?

What even is going on here?
Ya I feel like there is a page or 2 missing here.

sexxtreem cuddles? That doesn’t make any sense.I mean they did destroy a wall in the building they work in. And cause an evacuation.
Which I guess it counts as imaturity.
I just……

Not just at work but in public and actually damaging work property.
Wait, how does that… Imply that? I don’t get it, do I want to?
Yyyyyyiiikes. Wow.

More muddled by the premise that accepting immature affection- extreme cuddling or otherwise- is itself immature.
