everyone loves the photoshop noise filter right
Anyway I guess the implication is that Leslie duct-taped-up Robin to keep her from following her. Smart, probably!
I’m fine with the noise filter. Gives it a feeling like it’s extending out into their world.
Like the stargate thing, only it doesn’t kill people.
as long as it’s not lens flare!
Lens flare!
Uh… Plastic wrap!
There are a lot of good Robin facial expressions in this arc. Well, not so much Panel 3, but definitely Panel 2. Weird thing to focus on, I suppose, but it’s prompted in part by the most recent surprise Shortpacked! strip, which answered a question I’d had for a while about whether Willis was reining in her facial expressions in Dumbing of Age or if it was just a product of the evolving art style generally favoring more on-model facial expressions. As much as this arc really belongs to Leslie, it also brings out a side of Robin that we don’t really see very much elsewhere.
Oh shit! I thought that other one was a one-off, and now I find a full three new Shortpacked! comics! Woo!
It’s a special occasion
Oh! I missed the middle one.
Amber might be using it as an excuse to bang, but I wonder if she’s really prepared to give birth to George Jetson. As a baby brother to Donna, no less. Like, sure, she’s given birth before, but to George Jetson?
Then again, it means the Jetson kids had (…will have?) a scowly aunt with partial alien DNA, and that’s kinda rad.
nobody is prepared for that
That’s definitely a level up from even the Spanish Inquisition.
I think this has to be out of original Shortpacked continuity. For one thing, Mike got a vasectomy so that Donna COULDN’T have a little sibling because Amber promised her second-born to Galasso for managership.
Does this mean Mike gets his vasectomy reversed … and ultimately Galasso is bought out by Spacely Space Sprockets? (After the conclusion of the Soggy and Martian war, of course)
At the very least, now we know whether Walkyverse Mike is alive.
I think the noise filter would’ve worked better if the purple swirl had a complimentary fill color behind it. The navy blue void doesn’t play nice with it.
Yeah, the noise filter in and of itself isn’t bad, because it does convey ‘Massive, EXTREMELY ill-advised amounts of energy,’ but the navy isn’t the best contrast.
Also I do like that the secondary color of said energy swirl is a HA-reminiscent orange to go with that bright, bright purple.
She may suck at wacky hijinks, but Leslie DID know better while contact-highed than to let her speedster ex unrestrained while she went off to do something REALLY dumb!
Maybe Robin should let Joe remove the duct tape before she enters the portal.
I think you drew art of High on Sugar Leslie tying her up here?
It was when the triplets were born, I think. There was a poster with a bunch of flashbacks?
Did I make that up?
I do not remember this.
(Caution: spoilers for a scene later in this arc)
Might you be thinking of this? It’s not drawn by Willis but otherwise it matches the description.
Oh god, why did they give Robin CancerCancer-face in that last panel? I mean, it’s hilarious, but stil…
Yeah that’s the ticket.
