Man, my files for this week were a mess. I had to go dig into the old website archives to see if this strip was a rejected one or not, because this and the following strip share a date in their filenames.
Well, whatever. More fighting.
man, this week feels very… GPFy for some reason
Didn’t think doing hard core wrestling moves like the spear Billie just gave Sal in panel 4 counts as fighting like a girl. It be very satisfying to see someone suplex right now……Hey since we have the fight I’m going to enjoy it in whatever way I can.
I think it’s because Billie’s pulling her hair.
Ooooh, I don’t know why I didn’t notice that hand in the last panel. My eagle eyes are starting to fail me.
GPF?
General Protection Fault (a comic by Jeffrey T. Darlington)
First reaction: Oh yeah, I’d forgotten about that.
Second reaction: Holy crap, that thing’s still going?
What’s interesting* is that I’ve never read GPF but knew exactly what GPF meant
*not really that interesting if you remember there were only a few Big Webcomics around then I guess
Holy cheese, I remember archive-binging that back in my high school days. And it had several years under its belt already then.
GPFy? The only GPF I know of is General Protection Fault. I don’t get it. Are you saying this week just makes you want to crash?
Hmm, maybe I’m missing something. ::searches AcronymFinder::
Gallons Per Flush—It’s just been a shitty week?
Guild of Professional Farriers—The week has been like a horse’s ass?
Grand Prix Festival—Because things are happening too fast?
Okay, I’m out of ideas.
GPF was actually my first webcomic. I’ll always owe it for getting me into them, but I admit I stopped reading it some time ago.
It does seem odd that Sal thinks “fighting like a girl” is an insult considering she’s a girl and SEMME is pretty evenly split between genders.
What does “fighting like a girl” really mean anyway?
Sal takes two steps back, folds her arms a looks away. “Your daddy never REALLY loved you; he just feels obligated to act like it since your mom was the only one of his whores you lied about being on the pill.”
Billie: “fffffFUCK that was brutal! Can we go back to fighting like dudes, please?”
Sal: “Sure thing.”
I think I dropped GPF around the time there was a guest artist doing a “time traveling bimbos” arc. And I do not use the word “bimbos” lightly. It was too stupid to take.
GPF’s arcs have gotten longer and longer and the comic moves a bit too slowly for the stories Jeff is trying to tell. It’s OK to go back and binge-read but it’s kinda not entertaining to read day-to-day.
I really don’t understand the Algernon’s Dilemma “Bimbos in Space” arc, other than it was like trying to read a comic from the 50’s. Kinda not worth it.
