Characters: David Walkerton, Joyce Brown
Location: Joyce and Walky's apartment
“but cartoonist person, why did you use the Redone Year Zero story on this website instead of the original????”
Because this strip specifically calls back to it, that’s why!!!!!!!!!!!!
The original didn’t? huh.
or was that one not part of the “redone” strips
6 years later… payoff lol
The ties did indeed come for him.
One of my fav walky outbursts gets a callback. I used to be the same about ties. Now I end up looking for excuses to wear them lol.
I can wear a tie, but I don’t think I’ll ever enjoy it.
Ya just gotta flair it up. Throw on one with some cool pattern or slide a vest on or something. As long as you don’t look like an office coffee boy the look works
Well, Walky didn’t actually learn how to tie a tie, since it’s a clip-on. But sadly he was not able to escape the ties.
Joyce thinks he looks adorable. I believe that Walky can suddenly think of one good thing about wearing a tie.
Do school teachers in America really wear ties to work? I always assumed it was a cartoon shorthand.
I’m prepared to believe teachers at Catholic schools have to wear ties. I’ve a vague recollection that some of my teachers in the UK wore ties (at least until I ended up at a school run by hippies), but that was a personal choice.
Not where I live, Catholic school teachers don’t. Then again I’m in Canada so Catholic schools might work differently.
I’m p sure mine did, but most of them tried to be respectable
At least the men did, the lady teachers wore about anything presentable (for varying degrees of presentable)
In my experience, younger teachers dress up more so they don’t get mistaken as kids.
Joyce’s dialogue would be in MoCkInG SpOnGeBoB cAsE instead of all-caps if this strip was new.
Well at least he has one reason to wear it now
Two of you count his job
