This reminds me of conversations I have with my friends about D&D. I talk lovingly about my favorite classes from 2nd ed. and they go on to say a 3.5/PF mix that makes me feel lonely.
I never got to play 2e, because a friend I lent the PHB to used it to start a game with another friend that I wasn’t invited to. I don’t think I ever got the book back, either.
Trans….Formers…. Right, Thing I didn’t really care about. Maybe that’s why I always felt ever so slightly distant despite my once immense love for Shortpacked.
I brought the Optimal Optimus to school once to fight original Optimus. I won.
Then you must have cheated. Go to your room and think about what you’ve done.

Ooooh, elbows!
Yanno how weird it is, going about 23, 24 years into your life, and finding out this, which was your first Optimus toy:

was NOT the original Optimus toy, and the original was more akin to the one released as part of the second generation?
Thanks, Willis, for shattering that childhood illusion. 😛
I…honestly cannot imagine thinking Powermaster Optimus Prime was the original.
On the one hand, this clearly makes me noticeably older than a plurality of Transformers fans, since I’ve seen this a lot.
On the other, it’s only by, like, 2, or 3 years, so this shouldn’t be making me feel f’n ancient…
Hmm…Proto-Packed!
we expect so much more with them now but t is hard to forget that they started with so little
It’s like going back in time and having a conversation with eight year old Einstien.
You know he is going to be so awesome one day, but right now he just wants to play with toys and pick his nose.
Wait, are you talking about the toys or the comic? Works either way.
You’ve always wanted to make comics about toys, haven’t you?
Nobody have pointed this out yet, so i’ll do: why did Danny bring his old 1985 toy to college? It’s even more confusing after reading the next strip.
I dunno, G1 Prime had a good bit of articulation.
For his time, I mean.

This strip is so similar to the comment I just left on the previous strip! I love it!
