Wait…did Danny JUST notice that shelf? Come to think of it, hasn’t he known Joe since they were little kids? Shouldn’t he be aware of Joe’s hobby/habit by now?
Makes sense. Dorm rooms are tiny, after all. There they can be on a nice shelf where he can see it every day! Plus it’s probably easier to hang up the flying ones.
Personally I always thought Joe being into toys was an effect from the aliens, sort of like they brought something from the subconscious to the surface or whatever.
from experience with magic the gathering tcg no sizeable collection is enough of anything exept maybe keys
Truth! Even Magic the Gathering books are addicting.
What, no Dinobot?
And thus, the first telling of a joke that would be retold thirty times in Shortpacked!

Joe has been shown closetting his nerdiness in It’s Walky!
But…then why does he have a shelf displaying his toys publicly? And why did Danny just notice it?
Clearly he could not bring himself to display an incomplete collection, so he waited until he got Optimus Primal to put them all on display.
It’s in his closet.

… Why did I just put logic here?

I never said it needed an explanation.
Consider Joe’s more publically known hobby. Would you risk going to his house, having to sit on his furniture? That’s why Danny didn’t know.
Obviously Danny’s never met Ethan.
Well, not at this point in the narrative. Give it fifteen years.
Bah, only 9? I own more pocket watches than that.
Do you keep them in the inside of your jacket and try to sell them to passersby?
I own more bow ties than that.
Danny is Drew?
… One toy I can understand. Joe being a full on transformers collection nerd seems… Unexpected.
