I think this is a way better first appearance for her than her original first appearance, in which she waves and we get her name and we never hear from her again for months. You’ll see that strip in the next storyline. It will be uneventful.
Really, if you see only this strip, you know Walkyverse Billie pretty well.

As funny as this is, you have a point. Walkyverse Billie seems to actually care about being a good reporter, as opposed to just seeing it as part of her status.
Well, this strip aside, we don’t really see her talk about or do any reporting until we see her again in November 2001, several years into her education.
Wouldn’t that mean that Billie would have to kill herself in order to keep it from getting out?
The Dumbiverse Billie not quite as worried about her ‘precious parts’ I think. Cheerleaders get to show quite a bit of them in some routines.
Her rage against the nerd kind overrides any libido she has.
This strip is missing one critical bit of Billie’s character, though. Not a drop of booze in sight.
After that DoA strip, panel 6 seems like Billie’s just asking to be slammed against a wall and kissed.
