Chicken
on January 11, 2014 at 12:01 amThis “chicken” thing was a real thing my roommate at the time actually did. It was, um, something! Talkin’ about ladies on the DOWN-LOW! Sort of!
The “redhead” line at the end was something suggested by my online friends way back when. It made too much sense to leave out. So in it goes, retconned.
This strip’s location is tagged as “Maple Lane Mall” because Joe and Danny live in La Porte, Indiana, and that’s the mall there, but the mall depicted has way too many people and stores inside for it to really be Maple Lane Mall. Maple Lane Mall be tiny, yo. It’s like somebody’s garage sale than a mall, if somebody’s garage had an Aladdin’s Arcade in there.
Oh man, you pulled a Lucas on us! Next thing you know, [insert “Greedo Shot First” joke here]!
I can only imagine how tiny Maple Lane Mall is if fifteen people and two stores is too much.
Well, it definitely didn’t have a fountain! …or a shoe store.
Guys are weird.
People, humans, species, bananas, women, men, buildings, polar bear fur, volcanos, islands, mars, jupitar, banana slugs, oatmeal, dogs, television, stock markets, movies, drugs, vonn neuman, the reproductive system, the brain, religion, atheism, school, art, acting, jobs, gobins, hunting, technology, video games, arcades, shelves, stars, the moon, gravity, light, electromagnetics.
Seriously, it’s not just guys.
I agree. Seriously, what are we doing, dudes?
Good thing it is just a guy in a costume. think of that if it was a mutant chicken who wanted to brutally beat him.
Then we now know Seth Macfarlan read Willis’ early material.
Greetings, almost-Michigander! I am from Zeeland…a town that stills views the demon drink as an abomination unto Nuggan.
As are babies, the color blue, and accordion players.
Sam Vimes probably has a chapter all to himself.
Suddenly gives a new meaning to Freddie Mercury’s adlibbed last line of “One Vision”.
“Redhead” refers to the red comb on the chicken man’s costume, right? How is this a retcon?
Nearly seven years late, but Danny saying “redhead” wasn’t in the original version of this strip (if you dig through the Wayback Machine to check). You can just barely tell that the lettering is slightly different, since the new bit was done digitally instead of on paper. Presumably that’s what Willis meant.
Danny needs to adopt he habit of slapping Joe upside the head whenever he comes up with something stupid like that.
I believe you mean “were you chicken out my girlfriend”
