He starts the conversation saying “Joyce is gone.” He knows she’s gone, and the reason, but he’s angry that Joe seems to have already known and not told him, since he’s just recently found out.
Because he’s a human being?
After two weeks with his mind focused on Ruth, he finally got a glimpse of his surroundings and noticed, Joyce was missing. She gave him more room lately, but being away for so long was odd. If you’re going to work every day, and your neighbour is always outside, calling you an idiot…you might notice it, when he’s not there anymore. And you’re curious, as of why.
Seeing how guilty he feels about Ruth, thoughts about somehow being responsible for Joyce disappearence aren’t too unusual.
I can’t remember, did Joe tell Danny last time he was abducted?
He did, and Danny didn’t believe him (though did humor him for a bit).
Yes. Danny responded as if he believed him, but it’s not clear if he was being sarcastic or not.
Yeah this is one of the continuity errors i noticed. At first he seems to not notice that Joyce is gone, and now he seems to know why?
He might have thought about it once somebody mentioned Joyce became a missionary.
Or a plot hole.
Or, who cares, it’s Joyce.
Or this comic and the previous one don’t actually happen consecutively, and it’s just really hard to tell.

Why does he care?
Because now there’s no one to follow him around and tell him how much like his flattering self-image he is all the time?

Guess he’s gotten over Sal. Though he may feel differently if she reappears.
Wait, last comic he didn’t know that Joyce was gone. And know he knows why she left??????
Oh wait, he did know, never mind.
Perfect gravatar for that statement.
Not sure, but to me Danny sounds like he’s just making up a believable reason.
No, her parents got the same story.
Through postcards postmarked Colorado.
Wait, does this mean that Walky tampered with those “finalized” report four pages back?
And he finally notices that she’s not sitting at his door ready to pounce
“Well, don’t look at me like that! you would’ve thought the same thing”
You know what they say about the truth being stranger.
